Wednesday Mix

Hi Everybody!

We had a very hot and humid day today - I suppose it saves going to the sauna.
Hope your day went well!

For Art Journal Journey, post and postage, I have 4 smaller pieces to show today. I mostly work on A3 size, but discovered these 6x4" pieces in a box labelled 'Unfinished' so I decided to finish them. I started them 4 years back. They all have torn paper collaged backgrounds, are painted with gesso and distressed with DI. I added the images and some fitting stamps.

On my afternoon walk I went through the fields and enjoyed the wild flowers growing there. The deadly nightshade flowers and fruits look  beautiful but are not to be eaten.

The blackberries are almost ripe:

The yellow flowers are beautiful:

And the apples are growing....

Have a great day you all, take care,
and thanks a lot for coming by!

  2. I'm glad you finished your pieces as they are too beautiful to sit in an unfinished box. And what nice photos today too. Wow- the apples look like they just need to ripen. I would wish it to be apple season but then summer will be winding down and I am not ready for that, but we have the same hot and humid weather and sounds like you (as am I) ready for a little cooler temperatures. Have a great Wednesday.

  15. Wonderful cards today; you can get as much on a small canvas as a very large journal page. The birds and their messages are delightful. The photos are wonderful and the colors so bright. We are also having a very humid day.

    Hugs,

  17. Hi Valerie, your mixed media designs are gorgeous! I love the collages with the postage stamps. Your photos as always are beautiful as well. I've been very busy, not much time for creativity or the computer as we've had a lot of family here... great fun :) Take care, Shirleyxx

  18. How nice to have some wonderful backgrounds just waiting for you liebe Valerie!
The birdies and the quotes are really speaking to me.
Each card is a little work of heART!
Today is the first day in a while that we have lower humidity and it doesn't feel like 105 degrees outside (I think that would be about 40 Celsius!) ... not my favorite thing. It was wonderful to open the windows this morning and step outside without melting in the sauna.
I have the same yellow button flower growing in my garden and the leaves smell like raspberry (Raspberry Tansy).
    Stay cool my friend ♥

  19. Love those birds - soooo sweet... great small art. And on the others - I am not really into that color of green on their background but I just have to say... I really love all the dimension seen in those backgrounds and the green looks surprisingly wonderful too! So glad you resurrected all these smaller pieces Valerie - they are so pretty and the sentiments are really good ones. And the pictures - just awed by them... I love that nightshade flower... sooo precious. All of the flowers and fruits are spectacular...going back to look at your creativity and your photos again now :) j.

  20. Great work as always, I know its been a while since I dropped by, sorry. I have moved house so that was a rather big upheaval. It is over now. Why not pop round to my page and see what I have been up to in my new art room aka (the spare room lol) love your summer photos :) T x

  21. Love your post--the art and all the photos! So refreshing for an afternoon break at work. Still chuckling at your comment about the humidity. Our heat indexes yesterday were over 110 deg F--that's a little over 43 deg C--pretty darn miserable! Thank you for your refreshing afternoon walks and documentation of the local foliage and floral offerings. I am enjoying it immensely with you!
