Mail art

Hi Everybody!

Today I have 2 more tags for our challenge at Tag Tuesday - mail, postmarks and postage stamps. The background here is one of my collected envelopes. The tag is a printed version of a journal page I made some years back using Mr UM with some of the president stamps on a stamped, stenciled and collage background. The quote is from Gracie Allen. A rather scary thought when I think of who might be in a new series of stamps....

The second tag is a mixed media collage tag on corrugated and stitched card. The face has been stamped onto a used coffee pod - I made a huge amount of these some time back and now have them at my disposal. I am also linking to

And this is a repeat of an old mixed media journal page, which I digitally chopped up and used to make my header. It was made using a copy of a vintage letter placed on an A3  painted, stenciled and stamped page:

I wonder if herons get cold feet?

Digitally changed into a pencil sketch:

Have a great day, take care,
and thanks a lot for coming by!

T sTands for Mail, posTmarks and posTage sTamps

Hi Everybody!

Hope you all had a good weekend, and here's wishing you a good, new week. Thanks to all who left well wishes on my last post. I have another hospital appointment on Friday, and hope then to find out what is causing the problems with my fingers and toes.

On Tuesday we are starting a new challenge at Tag Tuesday, and this time our lovely Sandie is hosting. She chose a great theme- mail, postmarks and postage stamps, so all those hoarded stamps can be brought out to play, and I'm looking forward to seeing what You make. You have 2 weeks to join us.

I made a 12" mixed media tag on canvas paper, using paints, collage, stamping, washi tapes and sewing, I think I got a bit carried away, but did remember in the end to add the required stamps and post marks etc:

Tuesday is also time for Elizabeth's T stands for Tuesday tea party, so here a warm welcome to all of the ladies of the T gang.

Last week was mostly grey, but on one day we had some sun in the morning and for short intervals in the course of the day. I showed this picture last week, Cafe Burghof, next to the castle:

The decorations inside are always rather strange, but very interesting :

But I prefer to take my cappuccino outside and watch the Rhine:

This was the beautiful sunrise from Saturday, but the sun disappeared after that and the rest of the day was just grey and dismal:

Hope your day will be filled with sunshine!
Have a great one, take care,
and thanks a lot for coming by!

Winter walks and more

Hi Everybody!

Hope your week is going well. I had rather a lot of doctor's appointments this week, so it didn't leave too much time for art and/or blogging, but I think we have to take life as it comes, even if it's a bit inconvenient and sometimes gets in the way of our plans.

I have another tag for Tag Tuesday, new beginnings- The background was hand painted, stamped and textured, and reminds me of the mostly grey skies we have been having. The figures are part of a set from Mischief Circus, and are showing some good advice. The background is new, the images are 'old':

I am linking to Paint Party Friday, hosted by Eva and Kristin.

I have 2 journal pages using the same images ( yes, I like these figures, so have used them a lot. Cutting out figures while watching TV is my knitting):

And some photos of wintry walks along the Rhine and through our little town:

Saint Swidbert is the patron Saint here:

I always love the shadows:

Some of the barges are very long:

I zoomed in the bridge:

Have a great day, take care,
and thanks a lot for coming by!
