Hi Everybody!
Hope your week has been good.
Our challenges at More Mixed Media blog always start on the 5th of each month. All challenges are anything goes, this time with optional blue. There is always a prize of lovely digital papers for the winner.
I made a large tag (11"), made from recycled bits and bobs. The background was a piece of spare card which I gave a colour wash of light blue water-colours. Then I added a hand-painted strip of paper left over from an old project. I used blue washi tapes to add more interest to the background. The feathers tag is one which I made some time back and which has been recycled to make this one. Lots of sewing and some blue feathers completed my mixed media tag. I am also linking to my challenge at Tag Tuesday, new beginnings - here a new start for some old pieces. Hope to see YOU joining in both challenges:
This week has been mostly grey and chilly, but we did have a few sunny moments which I was able to catch:
Waiting for breakfast:
This gull looked very indignant:
These 2 were busy cleaning their feathers:
The ducks at Schloss (castle) Kalkum:
And I treated myself to some tulips to remind myself that spring will come sooner or later:
Have a great day, take care,
and thanks for coming by!

ReplyDeleteBeautiful tag and the photos are gorgeous, love the tulips!!
ReplyDeleteThe tulips look fantastic especially with your glass in the background. Yes, getting them was a good idea. And I love the idea of giving new life to old art. But your winter sky is looking pretty like ours here too. It's good to see some color out in nature because there isn't much right now. Happy weekend. Hugs-Erika

Great photos, too, love the moody morning sun. The gulls are always cute. Have a lovely day, it's snowing here, so perhaps I can have a quiet day at home, that would be great. Hugs, Sarah

Beautiful tag! The layers of papers and washi tape with your smaller feather tag and stitching is lovely and I love the sentiment that you added too 😁. The birds waiting for their breakfast made me smile and the tulips remind me of springtime. Wishing you a happy weekend! J 😊 x

I adore your layered tag creation - the stitching adds delicious texture, and the colours are lovely. This post is altogether wonderful colour-wise - those delicate sky blue pinks in the treescapes, and then those wonderful red tulips with the glowing blue glass on the shelves behind. Lovely, lovely, lovely.

ReplyDeleteI'm so far behind, I may never catch up. Your tag is fabulous and the sewing adds to it. I love the tulips and how you showed them with your beautiful glass pieces and books in the background. Have a great rest of Sunday, dear.
ReplyDeleteI love the way you did those feathers, that's what particularly struck me in this piece. The scenes with the sun going down behind those trees with the lake in the foreground are lovely. Tulips are a treat! It'll be tulip season before we know it, I'm sure, but I'm cold right now lol
ReplyDeleteI love your blue tag! It's so pretty! Makes me happy!
