Hi Everybody!
Another week has flown by and it's Friday already.
I have a journal page for Art Journal Journey, post and postage, which I am also linking to
Paint Party Friday, hosted by Eva and Kristin, and to Kim Dellow's Friday Face Art.
This is the last page made with Al Hirschfeld's Comedian stamps. This time it's Abbott and Costello on show, and I am sure many of my fellow Oldies
will remember them well. I drew my version of them using a broad Edding pen on A3 paper. The quote is from Lou Costello. The hardest part was drawing the check pattern on Lou's jacket!

Today started off with a wonderful sunrise
I enjoyed my walk through the fields and along the Rhine:
The shore and meadows are full of wild flowers:
A trap for the unwary - sometimes it's good to look where you're going and not just through the camera lens:
Have a great day you all, take care,
and thanks a lot for coming by!
Love your pages, I am a fan!
ReplyDeleteNice page today Valerie. You made a great page with Abbott and Costello-I wonder what the age cut off when people have never heard of them. They are definitely classics. And you did have a beautiful sunrise today. Has it cooled off at all?
ReplyDeleteNice work on the checked jacket! Glad you didn't step into that trap, lovely photos, enjoyed them all!
ReplyDeleteSorry, but I did, came home squelching!

A funny one! Lovely pictures, especially the sky ones, they are always my favourite!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful siunrise photographs and the amazing wall you found is terrific. Pleased you spotted the water in time.
ReplyDeleteI just love Abbot and Costello films and the way you have drawn them on your page is amazing. It was worth taking time to do the wonderful jacket and bow tie. The Meet the ? ---films still have me laughing just thinking about them and I can recall scenes and phrases from Meet the Mummy. Not sure if I was scared at the time I saw it but I think I was.
Have a great day
Love Chrissie xx
What a drawing, great! You got their looks as they were....
ReplyDeleteYour nature looks very healthy :) I like wild flowers, they're naturally here and there...
Have a relaxing weekend!
What a great cartoon Valerie, they were slightly before my time 😏, I used to love Laurel and Hardy. Have a great Friday, I'm afraid I can't put off the ironing mountain any longer! Xx
ReplyDeleteGreat drawing, I like the bow tie and the check jacket.
ReplyDeleteAnd I've been enjoying your photos of the wild flowers in this and previous blogposts.

You did a fantastic job capturing Laurel and Hardy! The checked jacket must have been a nightmare, LOL! It almost looks like the trees are on fire in that gorgeous sunrise photo! Happy Weekend. Hugs!

ReplyDeleteThis is just marvelous. How I wish we still had comedians like Abbot and Costello. Funny, clean, for the whole family.
ReplyDeleteYour interpretation and illustration are classic....love what you did with your page. Have a great weekend. Your scenic pictures are just wonderful...thanks for taking me on the walk.
True, today they use more obscenities than wit, that's for sure.
DeleteLou is sooooooooooooo handsome and his jacket looks perfect - great feat of perseverance Valerie!!! Hubby loved this one too - we are both A & C fans - of course!!! This is SUPER FINE all the way - so fun. Great choice of colors for them too! Walking along the Rhine - can't even imagine - just sounds so "exotic" to me!!! You made me laugh when I saw that puddle - eheheheh!!! You are such a delight. j.
ReplyDeleteDanke für den fetten Grinser, die Seite ist klasse. Ich werde gleich mal nach den beiden Namen googeln, die sagen mir leider nichts.

ReplyDeleteTerrific work on Abbott and Costello! I came to this country after their heyday and not a big follower. But you have done a terrific job in capturing them on paper. Great photos too. Did you step into the puddle?

Ah, Abbott and Costello! We had videos of their movies and our son absolutely adored them when he was young! There was a really funny one of a haunted house, if I remember! I love the black and white combo and that bold addition of red. There's such a nice retro feel to this page! Lovely work, Valerie.

ReplyDeleteThose two crazy fellows have been making regular appearances in my life recently :) Must mean I need to smile and laugh more often. That is a beautiful sunrise. I would have stepped right into the "trap" also :) Have a great weekend and stay cool.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photos! I do remember these funny guys. I am no good at plaid! You did an awesome job. I love the quote! It's so true.
ReplyDeleteHi Valerie. I really enjoy your superb drawing abilities. The wit you show in the comedy of the time is wonderful. I feel sorry for you in your wet shoes! I am amazed at how straight your lines are in the plaid jacket! I really love the sunrise and the field of dry grasses near the waters' edge. Thanks for another lovely post and for stopping by my site to leave a comment.
ReplyDeleteThis one had me laughing. My darling husband never did loose his nerve! I'm one of the lucky ones. LOL Your photographs are incredible. I love your work.
