Orange, orange and blue

Hi Everybody!
Hope your week started off well. It was cool and rainy here, and I enjoyed walking in the rain and getting wet. After all the heat we had last week it was really pleasant to be back to normal, although the next heat wave is on its way.

At SOC the colours this week are orange, orange and blue. This is the last of the colour challenges for this summer. I have once again used an A3 page. I drew a paper doll-face, already stamped and ready to post, as  she is also meant for the post-postage challenge at Art Journal Journey. She was drawn with charcoal pencils (thanks Chrissie!) and coloured with pastel chalks. I found some postage stamps in my stash in fitting colours, and added some postal stamping. And the blue and orange butterfly!
I am also linking to Simon Monday challenge, anything goes and to
Kim Dellow's Friday show your face.

At Tag Tuesday our theme this week is splashes, drips and dribbles. I used a background which was painted, sprayed and dribbled. I went over some of the little splashes with DecoArt liquid glass, which I outlined with a dark blue fine liner. Looks a bit like apples on the trees! I added some embellishments to give it all a bit more volume.

I just got 2 photos taken today, it started raining so much that it was not possible any more.

Have a great day you all, take care,
and thanks a lot for coming by!

  3. Love your post. Awesome use of the colors. I really like the idea of the stamps. I've never really used stamps on paintings, etc. I'll have to try that. Great tags.:)

  15. This is so original (again), I do like your fragile paper doll, all ready to post with a butterfly in her hair.
There is a sweet little postage stamp with a face bottom right, I wonder if you drew it. I like her curly hair, we all used to want curly hair in the "olden" days.
Walking in the rain is lovely (if you are coming back home to get dry again). Your photo of the hydrangea with the water droplets is superb.
Have a nice (cool) day. We are having nice cool days all....the....time. Actually it is quite pleasant.

  55. I had intended to visit sooner, because I always, ALWAYS love your art. These two pieces are extraordinary. I like how you combined your SOC entry with the postage at AJJ, too.Your lady is perfect for that, too. Of course, I was in AWE of your tag, so it was a big hit for me. You always put so much thought and attention to detail in your art, and these two entries are no different. Lovely pieces, both!
