Hi Everybody!
It's Friday already - where did the time go again?
For Art Journal Journey, post and postage, I have another journal page. I started out with some stamps showing René Magritte. I painted the A3 background with gesso and then gave it a colour wash with sky blue. I found some nice images in my stash with Magritte. The one at the bottom, showing him from the back, was applied as a transfer with mod-podge. The image on the right side should have been transferred with the same technique, but somebody (!?) pasted the mod-podge on the wrong side, so it had to be glued on as it was, which means the background script is the wrong way round. I must admit I quite like the effect. I used TH's Umbrella man to stand in for Mr Magritte, giving him Magritte's head with a stamp. I added some blue raindrops and a quote from Magritte.
I am also linking to Paint Party Friday, hosted by Eva and Kristin

The farmer was plowing the field ready for the second planting, and was accompanied by a flock of seagulls looking for tidbits in the freshly turned earth.
The flowers, wild and cultivated, are beautiful at this time of year:
The bees are busy buzzing around collecting pollen:
Have a great day you all, take care,
and thanks a lot for coming by!

Lovely page for AJJ and PPF! You have such a love and appreciation for nature Valerie!
ReplyDeleteI love how you took an artist and his images and created a post page out of it. Really clever! And great bee photos too. Our bee numbers are in trouble here. They say they are disappearing, which would be devastating. Have you heard anything about that in Germany?
ReplyDeleteSame thing here, it is a HUGE problem for everybody.
DeleteValerie your ideas and creativity are never ending which I so admire....this is fabulous and the photos gorgeous........re my dad, he is nearly 103 and now and again decides to 'hibernate' and not eat or drink for days so it is a huge worry for me....take care xx

Hi Valerie, back from our travels and have to say I don't want to see another plane for a very long time although it was lovely seeing my brother and his family for the first time in seven years. You have created a wonderful art page and such pretty photos. Our garden is like a jungle, there's was so much rain while we were away and guess what, more rain today, I think your summer has definitely been better than ours! Xx
ReplyDeleteWelcome back to this side of the planet!
DeleteSuper journal pages.
ReplyDeleteMysterious män on your creative page.
ReplyDeleteHappy PPF xx
Such a great piece yet again! Thanks too for sharing all these beautiful flowers with us!

Another interesting journal page Valerie - I love how you incorporated the head on the stamp with the body!! Lovely shots of bees - I love hearing them buzzing around in our garden - it is a worry that they are in such trouble worldwide.

Fabulous Magritte art! The bees are really having a great time collection pollen. We are seeing less and less of them around here. Even the wasps which normally are a bit of a nuisance getting into our house siding when the sun is at its hottest, have not been as numerous. Have a wonderful weekend!
