Hi Everybody!
Hope you all enjoyed the weekend, and wish you a good start
in the new week.
For Art Journal Journey, collage, and 99 Faces I made a face collage on an A3 background. I painted the background with diluted colours left over from another project, sprinkled it with water, and then mopped off the drops with a paper towel to add some interest. The face is just an outline drawn in black ink. I just added some colour to the eyes, mouth and eyebrows, and some gold pen as 'eye-liner' . I collaged some paper scraps, and added some birds and stars which were flying around on my table. The piece of yarn was there, too, so it also had to be glued on.
Today was a wet, grey and gloomy day, although the water birds seemed to be enjoying it:
Have a great day, take care,
and thanks a lot for coming by!
Lovely face, gorgeous colours and fantastic photos. Off to bed now, so I wish you a good night. Hugs, Sarah

Good Morning Valerie. Love the great features on this face, alongside the fabulous colours it really stands out. Those seabirds in your pictures look very cold and wet even though it's their natural habitat. Been a rather miserable winter so far in the UK. Keep warm and cosy and enjoy your crafting. Hugs Rita xxx
ReplyDeleteGorgeous face today, Valerie, along with photos highlighting the birds in the area. It rained here all day. Have a great, creative week.
ReplyDeleteHugs,
C
I am in awe of that face, and of course the eyes and eyeliner. Very subtle, but effective.
ReplyDeleteThe photos today seemed to go to the birds (grin). Love seeing them. They always make me smile, especially the heron.
Your woman looks so glamorous, and maybe its because your background looks rather glittery and glitzy. Almost like there are stars in it. Maybe she is off to a holiday party or a New Years celebration. Lovely work. Hugs!
ReplyDeleteIt was gloomy here too. Lovely, dreamy piece today Valerie. The blues and greys must contribute to that mood.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful page Valerie. I just love how you make a million dollar background from humble beginnings. The face is amazing with such expressive eyes.
ReplyDeleteWouldn't photographs of the beautiful birds who look very happy even if it was cold and wet.
Have a lovely day

ReplyDeleteWow Valerie, this is one of my favourite pieces of yours so far! The background is just stunning with the streaks of blues and whites, and your face is beautiful, she looks like an angel!! Love your pics today too, birds are amazing creatures! hugs :)
ReplyDeleteLoving your blue lady Valerie, her eyes are beautiful. Super photos as well, even though it was a gloomy day.

ReplyDeleteThat one close up of the heron (?), he even looks cold:)
ReplyDeleteI always love your blue works.
Have a great one, Val. Hope the knee is feeling okay.
Great page. Love the lips! Beautiful photos of birds .. love them too. Take care, big hugs, Donna
ReplyDeleteSchöner Hintergrundeffekt!
ReplyDelete... und ich sehe, bei dir ist es genauso grau wie hier! LG Ulrike
Magical! You wiggled your magic wand over the birds and stars and yarn and they hopped on the page with this beautiful flowing blue star goddess to make sheer loveliness. j. Oh and P.S. Love the way you captured big bird in the second picture - with a filter or something... it's so amazing. The wings just look like someone combed and fluffed them and he posed for you. :)
ReplyDeleteNo filter, he looks like that! I can watch them for ages, they all like posing.
DeleteWhat a wonderful face, Valerie! I adore those blues and love the amazing eyes. Brilliant! Great photos!
ReplyDeleteHugs, Mar
Oh yes, this is a great portrait and the whole page is superb, and the line of yarn that came from your magic table area is the perfect finishing touch.
ReplyDeleteGreat photo of the heron, they do stand still obligingly for you, they know they make a good photo.
Beautiful face; love the background. Hugs!
ReplyDeleteHi Valerie, what a beautiful face you created. I love the blue and the stunning background. Beautifully wintry photos too. Hugs
