Blue and grey

Hi Everybody!

Hope you all enjoyed the weekend, and wish you a good start
in the new week.

For Art Journal Journey, collage, and 99 Faces I made a face collage on an A3 background. I painted the background with diluted colours left over from another project, sprinkled it with water, and then mopped off the drops with a paper towel to add some interest. The face is just an outline drawn in black ink. I just added some colour to the eyes, mouth and eyebrows, and some gold pen as 'eye-liner' . I collaged some paper scraps, and added some birds and stars which were flying around on my table. The piece of yarn was there, too, so it also had to be glued on.

Today was a wet, grey and gloomy day, although the water birds seemed to be enjoying it:

Have a great day, take care,
and thanks a lot for coming by!

  6. Good Morning Valerie. Love the great features on this face, alongside the fabulous colours it really stands out. Those seabirds in your pictures look very cold and wet even though it's their natural habitat. Been a rather miserable winter so far in the UK. Keep warm and cosy and enjoy your crafting. Hugs Rita xxx

  8. I am in awe of that face, and of course the eyes and eyeliner. Very subtle, but effective.

The photos today seemed to go to the birds (grin). Love seeing them. They always make me smile, especially the heron.

  9. Your woman looks so glamorous, and maybe its because your background looks rather glittery and glitzy. Almost like there are stars in it. Maybe she is off to a holiday party or a New Years celebration. Lovely work. Hugs!

  10. It was gloomy here too. Lovely, dreamy piece today Valerie. The blues and greys must contribute to that mood.

  21. Magical! You wiggled your magic wand over the birds and stars and yarn and they hopped on the page with this beautiful flowing blue star goddess to make sheer loveliness. j. Oh and P.S. Love the way you captured big bird in the second picture - with a filter or something... it's so amazing. The wings just look like someone combed and fluffed them and he posed for you. :)
