In my garden there is - last day

Hi Everybody!

Today is the last day of our challenge 'In my garden there is'
at Art Journal Journey. Yvonne chose the theme and gave us a fantastic month,
so a big THANK-YOU to Yvonne, who posted a journal page every day and visited everyone who joined in. And tomorrow we are starting a new theme, so come back tomorrow and see who our hostess is and learn about the new theme!

I have made my traditional collage:

And the last of the garden pages:

The 'trust' (cut and pay) garden down by the Rhine  is rather overgrown this year.
After weeks of rain and then too much heat everything is overgrown with thistles, grass and wild flowers:

And the plants on my balcony are doing well:

The weather has been cloudy/sunny/rainy, but that makes for lovely skies:

Have a great day, take care,
and thanks a lot for coming by!

Walking in the rain

Hi Everybody!

Our lovely challenge at Art Journal Journey, 'In my garden there is', which Yvonne has hosted so well, is almost over. But as much as we will miss this theme, the next great theme begins on Monday, and I am sure we will
all enjoy it, too.

This double spread was made in my 'old' new journal. The background was brayered  and stamped with a script stamp - any paint leftovers I have are used to brayer backgrounds, which is really quick and effective. The poppies were stamped using a set I got from Carolyn (thanks again Sweetie!). I used water colours to paint them, and the dragonflies were stenciled and partly outlined with black ink.

These past couple of days it has cooled down a bit. In my apartment it is still too warm, it takes a long time for the heat to go away. Yesterday it rained, so I put on my Goretex jacket and walked through the rain for 2 hours - wonderful!
The flowers were enjoying it, too:

I love the dandelions in front of the graffiti on the subway wall:

Have a great day, take care,
and thanks a lot for coming by!

Gardens and More

Hi Everybody!

Another week has flown by, and it's time once again to post for
Paint Party Friday, hosted by Eva and Kristin, and for Art Journal Journey. Yvonne has been hosting for us this month, and has done a fantastic job, kudos!

I made a hybrid piece, using a small water-colour painting - one of my ten minute exercises - with some digital add ons and once again, my balcony blackbird has smuggled himself into the picture. The quote is from 'The secret Garden':

And here is another doodle from this week, made in my new journal. The background was brayered with some left-over pink paint. I don't know yet whether I will colour some parts of the pattern, still need to decide about that.

I love watching the morning sun fight its way through the clouds:

Some flowers from my walks:

This was growing by the tram rails:

I always enjoy the lovely houses and their gardens:

Have a great day, take care,
and thanks a lot for coming by!
