Tuesday Mix

Hi Everybody!

We had a long weekend here as it was the Whitsun bank holiday, but the weather was not nice to us, and stayed cold and blustery. At least it didn't rain while I was out, so that's something to be thankful for.

As it's Tuesday, it's time for Elizabeth's T stands for Tuesday, where we share our drink related posts.  Here's a big welcome to all the T gang! My drink is, as always, cappuccino, so I'm sharing a piece made some time back which is all about coffee. The little cups were stamped, fussy cut and painted. I used cinnamon stickles for the coffee and white puff paint for the milk foam. The little blue cup in the left corner is a button, I just cut off the loop at the back with a scissors.. The background was stamped repeatedly with coffee quotes.

Here is the Italian ice-parlour where I like to drink a cup of coffee from time to time.  I went in today to warm up, as the wind was really nasty. Well, that's my excuse and I'm sticking to it! I have never tried their waffles from the menu, but they do look delicious....

At Tag Tuesday this week our theme is wings and words. I made a tag with the image of Frida Kahlo, which I drew with a pencil, coloured with sepia inks,  and fussy cut. After I had photographed the tag, I decided to make a journal page from it as well, so here it is. I am linking to journeys at Art Journal Journey, to honour Frida's journey through her art and life. Wings and feet are also necessary for journeys.

My journal is hard to photograph, as it has grown so fat!

And last but not least, a reminder that you still have a week to join in the
spots, dots and splashes challenge at TIOT! Hope to see you there....

Have a great day, take care,
and thanks a lot for coming by.

  1. This does not happen very often when I am first to comment. I think I remember your coffee card. That little button really steals the show. Your journal pages are really good. Your drawing is fantastic and the sepia color you used with it are perfect. Really Valerie, your drawing is really beautiful and I do like the added lace,

  7. Your coffee/cappuccino in cups is wonderful. Those stickles and puffy paints are so good at being dimensional. I keep forgetting I have some very old (from the late 80s) puffy paint. I may have to play with it this week. Of course, I love what you did with the tag and the coffee. Fantabulous.

Your Frida tag is wonderful, and it fits so many themes this time. I'm so glad my pages aren't the only ones that ripple. Yours look well loved, too.

Thanks for sharing this incredible art with us for T this Tuesday.

  9. perfect "T" art for this week and I do love the wonderful Frida pages as well. It has gotten cold and blustery here as well which of course I do NOT like but then , it does allow us to stay indoors and create, right? Happy T day!

  15. I love your coffee card (no, I hadn't seen it before). The coffee is very realistic and of course the little button is sooo cute.
I love your Frida Kahlo page. The quote of course is from the time she was so ill she couldn't walk anymore. Interesting that you made her page so monochrome when everything about Frida was colourful.....
    Happy T-Day!

  28. We do love our coffee! Your cup creation is remarkable with the details for the cappuccino. Interesting in that we made a coffee cup card at art club last night. I just need to put mine together as I got tired and had to quit early. I did enjoy visiting with my friends. Wish you had a local group to share ideas and meet regularly. Frida...I really like the sepia tone effect you used for this piece. It is perfect along with your drawn face of her! Sorry about the weather...stormy here for a few days too.
