Star trek revisited

Hi Everybody!

Star Trek journeys would really be the ultimate way to travel
and see new planets and galaxies. My hybrid piece for
Art Journal Journey, journeys, links back to this unforgettable series
with a famous quote - 'Beam me up, Scotty!', used so often in the saga by Captain Kirk. I made a hybrid piece, using a hand-painted background, overlayed with an old document. I added a photo of the houses taken here, and added some of  'my' faces in the windows. And one of 'my' heads had to stand in for Captain Kirk with his famous message....

You still have 2 days to join us and take part in Erika's lovely challenge!

This is one of the newer Rhine boats, and is advertising Christopher Street Day, which is taking place in Düsseldorf this weekend.

I wouldn't mind a little boat like this:

Today I watched the ships looming out of the haze:

There are lots of flowers along the streets of our little town:

And this is evidently not a window box but a door box!

My finch spends a lot of time on my balcony:

The young jay still looks rather scruffy:

His favourite spot is right by the fat balls:

Have a great day you all, take care
and thanks a lot for coming by!

  7. I'm a big fan of Star Trek and this is adorable, especially where you positioned the head.

I really enjoyed the river photos, but really enjoyed the close ups of the finch. The young jay has gorgeous markings that were captured perfectly by your camera. Wonderful shots.

  8. Forgot to mention that I would hate to be the person having to deliver mail to the house with flower box door.

    1. You're right there! Today the mailboxes have to be a certain size, and mounted at a certain height, etc. In the good old days they did what hey wanted!

  18. Late getting around to this with the holiday weekend here. I love this page a lot since I am both a fan of your heads and of Star trek. Seeing the boats on the Rhine makes me want to go boating and for some reason my garden flowers aren't as full so far this year but I love seeing those in your town. Hope its been a great weekend. Hugs-Erika

  19. Love your page today, I was giggling when I read your quote from Star Trek! Great photos, the young Jay is so handsome! Did you say "fat balls"?? Do you buy those or make them?? I'm still struggling with the best way to attract the birds. Not all of the feeds available work, but yours certainly seems to. hugs :)

    1. Sometimes I buy them, but I often make my own.

    2. When you make them, do you bacon fat? What brand are the ones you buy? Sorry for all the questions, I'm very curious because I haven't been having much luck with the bird feed that I'm using. I mostly only get Sparrows, but I would like a better variety and you seem to get such a great mix of visitors. If you have any advice or recipes for me, I would be so grateful. hugs :)
