Hi Everybody!
For Art Journal Journey, journeys, I made a mixed media spread in my 'new' journal. The leopard was cut out of a prospect.
And some photos from my walks:
These two photos were taken 2 weeks back, when the leaves were starting to sprout:
The swan was out for a Sunday swim:
Evening sun:
And my greedy pigeon again:
Where's my breakfast?
Have a great day you all, take care,
and thanks a lot for coming by!
Love your Africa pages, and the quote from Nelson Mandela. Great photos, sprig is such a lovely time of year. Hugs, Sarah
ReplyDeleteFabulous pages Valerie and the photos are superb. The colours on the pigeon are amazing. Hugs Rita xxx
ReplyDeleteLove your African pages Valerie, colours look great - hot and dusty!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous photos, looks like you've had a gorgeous sunset.

You and I must really be on the same wavelength because today I worked on a page for AJJ about Africa. Its not quite finished, so you'll have to wait a couple of days to see it. :( But yours is fantastic. That leopard is pretty impressive. And they say the lion is king of beasts but I'd be a little afraid of that leopard if I ran into him in the jungle. Great page all around. Have a great start to your new week. Hugs-Erika
ReplyDeleteBeautiful spread, and I love the words ...
ReplyDeleteLovely Africa pages and beautiful photos today
ReplyDeleteNelson Mandela was a wonderful person and a true spokesperson for Africa. I remember in the late 1980s, the company I worked for had a vote to see if we stockholders wanted to continue working with South Africa due to apartheid. To be honest, I had never even heard the word before we were asked to vote! When I learned about the racial inequality, I was appalled and hoped to stop it at all cost. It reminded me of my country's civil war, which still allowed segregation into the late 1960s. I'm so glad you shared this wonderful page on Africa, and the beauty of it, too.
ReplyDeleteYour pigeon is so colorful. Somehow I don't remember it being this colorful before.
Again, thanks for this wonderful spread on Africa.

Your piece is exotic and captures Africa perfectly. I can almost feel the sun overhead.

Love your Africa page Valerie, so fiery!! Beautiful photos, love the one of the park bench nestled in all of the trees! hugs :)
ReplyDeleteLove the page on Africa! It was always a place I wanted to visit and I used to read to my daughter about it when she was young. She finally got to visit there "TWICE" and it was a DREAM experience for her. She brought home hundreds of beautiful photos of her trip ♥
ReplyDeleteI never know where to begin when I leave a comment. Love your journal spread Dear Heart - the colors really make me feel the African heat. I felt a deep pain when reading Mandela's words - they could be applied to the whole world. Is that an old mill? I don't think I have seen it before. And I marvel on how you capture the colors that you do - Mrs. Pigeon is beautiful - look at her colors. I love that picture. I love your walks.
ReplyDeleteSandy xx
It would be good if the world would heed Mandela's words. That old water mill is about a mile from here, I often walk past it.
DeletePerfect quote for your Africa spread. Love the leopard and the matching postage stamp; everything you added completes the perfect spread, even the trees. That pigeon knows a good thing so he'll be around for a long time. He is pretty. Thanks for sharing the other photos.
ReplyDeleteHugs,
C
The pigeons are beautiful but really greedy!
