The journey is the destination

Hi Everybody!

Hope you are enjoying your weekend!
Today just seemed to run away - I had a lot planned, and was busy all day, but didn't get much done.

For Art Journal Journey, journeys, hosted by our sweet Erika, I have a double mixed-media spread in my new journal, which is now almost full. I 'm also trying to get rid of lots of scraps. In recent years, technical things have been progressing with huge steps, and the newest technique from Victorian times, although most impressive at the time, is just history today. The technical progress of recent times is a journey which moves us along at an amazing pace, and sometimes I wonder where and when  this journey will end.

We had a lot of cloud this morning, but the sunrise was still beautiful:

The horses are happy whatever the weather is:

Lots of leafy, green paths to walk along:

And this is something I haven't seen before - a nettle growing out of one of the walls:

Have a great day, take care,
and thanks a lot for coming by!

  1. This is something different today, and I like it very much. Great photos, too, the sunrise was wonderful, the sky looks like molten gold. Hugs, Sarah

  2. I just started worrying that this time will pass too quickly, all that lovely greenery! The horses look beautiful and lovely pages you did for AJJ.

  5. What a clever journey topic for today Valerie. I think your page came out beautifully. You used lots of clever pieces and the addition of that beautiful girl is such an antithesis to the other images that she works perfect. Love seeing how green it is-we're catching up though, however slow its been here. Enjoy the rest of your weekend. Hugs-Erika

  6. Those clouds in the photo look rumbly...a storm? Love your page and I love the title, should have used that for my

The photo of the nettle on the bricks should win an award somewhere - AMAZING. XXj.

  21. Beautiful spread - I think one of my favorites. It feels like love - like a warm blanket. Everything fits together so well. My eye is wandering all over your spread gently resting on one thing or another before it moves on. "This and that and the neighbor's cat" really tickled my fancy. My favorite picture is the Nettle growing out of the old wall.
