And that means we will be a starting a new challenge with a new host and a new theme tomorrow! DeleteWhen I see the term “bits and bobs” it causes me to smile, for I have known many Bobs (still do) and one person, unusually called Bit. It seems that when he was a young boy his grandmother would affectionally call him “Little Bit” and the name Bit was perpetuated as his nickname. I wonder if the Bobs and Bits of this world ever dreamed they would be joined together to denote scraps of mostly useless ephemera. Not a legacy most of us would aspire to. However, Valerie, I am sure that your bits and bobs have elegance and class, style writ large, offcuts to dazzle the eyes, sequins that sparkle, buttons that are just right, and tinsel to brighten up the dullest sheet of dark and gloomy paper. Included at times, I know, are old theatre tickets, grocery bills from when eggs were twenty-five cents a dozen, the price tag from the dress you bought when you received your first pay packet, fruit cut from the advertising flyer from the grocery store, old thread, a used napkin which held the biscotti served with your cappuccino, perhaps the little package of sugar, intact or opened, old postage stamps, picture of the Eiffel Tower…..there is no end to it. Imagine the fun Marie Antoinette could have had with you rather than lose her head over an offhand remark about cake. I think I am going to go through every drawer and cupboard in the house and pour all of my junk into one big box to send to you. My trash will be come your treasure to be repurposed creatively and together we will have become responsible citizens. Whoever thought that might happen? Hugs and kisses - David
ReplyDeleteMy bits and bobs are treasures and resources which I can't throw away! Recycling is in . So keep collecting all of your bitses and bobses and send them here! I'm sure Miriam collects scraps and fibers which might be useful one day! Have a great day, big hugs xxxxxxx

DeleteFantastic Tag Valerie. Have to be honest and say I was stumped with Michele's theme, so ended up going through nearly all of my stamps and came across my Lynne Perrella ones. Amazing how easy it is to lose track of what stash I have got, lol. Hope you are continuing to get well. Hugs xx
