Time has run away today, so no time for bla bla! I have another piece for Erika's It's on the calendar challenge at AJJ :
Once again I used the old calendar. The background was stencilled, and then I used a photo of my little winter birds. I wrote the text and added a few little embellishments:

DeleteThank you for this overall avian theme, Valerie, a delightful start to my morning. Shortly I will be off to give a presentation on the Birds of Australia; no doubt you have provided inspiration. Maya Angelou was (is?) a role model for all of us, but I am afraid that hatred and fear of “the other” continues, and discrimination is alive and well, even among political leaders. If my audience this morning is representative of our population at large (and often it is) there will be at least one little corner of diversity, tolerance and community for a couple of hours. And we will all rejoice in it. Hugs and kisses - David
ReplyDeleteSometimes I'm scared to read the newspaper and find even more bad news. One thing that has cheered me up a bit is that here in Germany so many people are fed up with and afraid of all of the people who are extremely right wing, and the last couple of weeks there have been a lot of demonstrations aginst the right wing tendencies. There will be a huge demo here at the weekend, so I will try to join in, even if I can't march the whole of the route they will be taking. Enjoy your Birds of Australia talk! Hugs xxxxxxx
