This and that on Wednesday

Hi Everybody!
Today we are starting a new challenge at

-Asia-

As always, projects of all formats are welcome and you
have 2 weeks to join us, so hope
to see you there!

I made a tag using background paper and an image from Gecko Galz.
I faded the paper for the background behind the tag
and used it as it is for the tag:

And this is the tag I made for Tag Tuesday yesterday,
where our theme is
'A winter walk'

Here I used a photo taken in the lane behind the castle ruins by the Rhine.
I added a couple of shadowy people, and a photo of Erica
in her winter finery:

And for Art Journal journey, light and dark, I have another hybrid piece, using
one of the shadow images from the tag on a painted
background with a quote by Helen Keller:

And I have some more of my glass to share.
First of all some very elegant Art Nouveau vases:

Lots of birds:

Ronneby Art Glass in Sweden makes beautiful pieces- I love their technic of making patterns inside clear glass. The pieces are all rather heavy, and feel so smooth and cool:

Here we are in the swinging sixties with some space age pieces:

I love the repeated reflections here:

And this vase with the abstract flowers is one of my faves, and
is from the 1930s:

I will show some more another time!

Have a great day, take care,
ad thanks a lot for coming by!

  4. I'm BACK. Now I can view your post properly. The tags are both beautiful, and I am going to try to join you at MM&M at least once this fortnight. Asia is a beautiful theme, and I love it dearly.

Erica looks quite smart in her winter finery. She looks like she belongs, too. Another winner.

This glass is wonderful. I am so taken by the patterns inside the clear glass. It looks like something you made, too. I also like the abstract flowers from the 1930s. It reminds me of a vase my Grandmother had. Ironic that I didn't see it after my grandparents died.

    1. Yes, it's strange how much stuff seems to disappear when people die.

  5. You brought up a good point when you left a comment about loading your own software. I've edited my post with this "I have also always installed my software in the past, but my software is old and was created for a 32 bit computer, and this is a 64 bit. I suspect there will be a few hiccups along the way." That's why I'll let the "expert" play with it.

    1. I have been able to use some old software, and most programmes work well. By one programme Windows gave a warming not to Install it.

  7. Beautiful tags Valerie and a terrific journal page as well.

More amazing glassware with some very unusual pieces. Make me wish I had saved some of things I have given away over the years. Can't believe you have more to show us but I can't wait to see them. You could start a museum of your own :)

    Have a great day

    Love Chrissie xx

  11. Wow- another super post! First of all, your art pieces are beautiful! I love the one of Erica in the snow and the old almost Victorian feel it has. And wow- more gorgeous glass. I don't have a lot of glass myself, but I think I have one of those Swedish birds. I had an uncle who always remembered me with a little something Swedish (because his parents, my grandparents, both immigrated from Sweden in the early 1900's) at Christmas, and one year he gave me one of those little birds. To keep the home country traditions alive. I love that colorful rainbow piece from the 1930's at the end of your post. You tempt me to keep my eyes open for some old beautiful glass for sure. Hope its been a wonderful day. Hugs-Erika

  12. 3 totally different styles on your artwork - and all absolutely beautiful Valerie.
Like the sound of the new MM&M theme :)
More beautiful pieces of glassware (I'd hate to have to dust all of them and worry about breaking them).
Love the Art Nouveau vases especially, it looks like melted chocolate syrup dribble over them.
Hope you've had a great day... Gill xx

  17. Beautiful art pages and Oriental tag, Valerie, its good to see Erika again in your pages.
Your Glassware is awesome , the colours, shapes and the birds must really catch the light. Do you have everything on display? I hope you do as it would be such a shame to keep these beauties in a cupboard.
