Hi Everybody!
Hope you have a good start in the new week.
For Art Journal Journey, light and darkness, I have another
hybrid piece, for which I digitally combined a photo of the night sky, an old document, and a window frame and lantern. The moon and stars are from Mischief circus.
And I forgot to show my tag from last Tuesday, so here it is
as it fits very well to the theme:
Today I hopped onto the tram and went to Duisburg, a neighbouring town, to look at the Christmas Market there. The best thing for me were the delicious smells coming from the various booths.
I was there relatively early,so there were no crowds.
I am glad they didn't dress Nana up for Christmas:
There was even a skating rink:
I loved the silver trees:
I wasn't intending to eat anything, but on the way back
I smelt these delicious 'Reibekuchen' - potato cakes,
and had to eat a portion - yummy!
Have a great day you all, take care,
and thanks a lot for coming by!
Your journal page is very pretty and rather romantic today.Love the photos from Duisburg, I don't think we have been there at all. Have a good week, hugs Sarah

ReplyDeleteYour journal page is very pretty, love the layers and quote. Great photos of Duisburg, I don't think we have ever been there. Have a good new week, hugs Sarah
ReplyDeleteLoving your light and darkness pieces today. The digital views really are great for showing light. And I also enjoyed the Christmas Market photos. I love the nutcrackers and the holiday cheer. Its so festive! And the potato cakes- yum. I haven't had potato cakes for so long, like maybe over 10 years. Happy new week. Hugs-Erika
ReplyDeleteYour pages are just so lovely. I like your style! Years ago we spent Christnas in Salzburg. We went to many German markets. It was the most magical time ever!!!!
ReplyDeleteOh Valerie, I'm so glad you went to Christmas Market and showed the photos. I so want to go to one or more of them! It looks such fun! And yummy, too!
ReplyDeleteWonderful page with a beautiful quote Valerie but the star of the show for me is Christmas Market. Not sure if it is the one I went to almost 30 years ago but it certainly looks like the same place. I can smell the air even now if I think about it and the wonderful tasters that we were offered as we walked around. Many places here in the UK try to copy your markets but they don't come close.
ReplyDeleteLove Chrissie xx
LOVE spud cakes and these looks so crunchy and yuuum...,mum used to make these for us all the time. Lovely pages love the look and so inviting to visit, but I say that each time I visit here, don't I, love your markets finds.xx{aNNie}
ReplyDeleteGreat artwork, a real glowing warmth to counteract the grey, wind swept ocean outside my studio window.
ReplyDeleteWe did love German Christmas Markets; Monschau in the Eifel was among our favourites. Ehrenfeld, in Cologne, was our first experience when we lived there in Pius Strasse in 1960/1

I would love to be a mouse in your pocket and visit with you all fascinating places you see. Your artwork is just right for the season. Beautiful post.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful lantern page Valerie, I love the bright blue accents. Your town looks so festive, how about that giant reindeer, so fun!! hugs :)
ReplyDeleteLove you hybrid pieces and tag, that is such an amazing colour of blue and it really shows off the gold light, stars and frame beautifully! I also love the blue Christmas trees you have captured in your photos, they look stunning! Thanks for taking me to the Christmas Market too, it was fun seeing all the sights and that potato cake looks so delicious, yum! :-). Wishing you a happy start to the week! J :-)
ReplyDeleteStunning AJJ page Valerie......do I recognize that background? *grin*
ReplyDeleteYour tag is amazing, such color and contrast. I'm glad I don't have to choose a favorite between the two.
I adore the market photos, we don't have anything near that in this area of the world, so strolling along with you was a real delight.
Potato pancakes I have had as a child, when we lived in the norther part of the country. There was a German restaurant here, years ago, and I would get DH to take me just to have them.....but they weren't as good as the ones Sophie made me as a child..............good memories!
Was für eine tolle Journal-Seite! Fabelhafte Komposition! Auch der Anhänger ist klasse!
ReplyDeleteLiebe Grüße, Annette
Zwei wunderschöne Licht-Werke hast du da wieder kreiert. Die Fotos sind auch wieder sehr gelungen. Toll diese schöne bunte Nana. Den letzten leckeren Reibekuchen hätte ich auch nicht wieder stehen können.
ReplyDeleteLiebe Grüße
Sabine
