Hi Everybody!
For Art Journal Journey, light and darkness, and for Paint Party Friday
I have a mixed media / hybrid piece using 'my' heads. The moon, small stars and cherubs are from Mischief Circus. The quote is from Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix.
Today is also Elizabeth's 2nd on the 2nd, so I am re-showing a piece made
last year as it also fits well to the actual them at AJJ. The image is from Gecko Galz.
We had more wonderful dawns and sunrises this week:
And I am sharing some more photos from the wonderful Glass
museum here - enjoy!
Have a great day, take care
and thanks a lot for coming by
Both pieces are beautiful. I always love your heads. The Russian piece is gorgeous and very atmospheric. Great photos, as always. Hugs, Sarah
ReplyDeleteGorgeous artwork Valerie and love the first one as the text is so true. Beautiful pics as well.
ReplyDeleteHave a lovely weekend.
Fliss xx
Lovely work for the challenges today. Beautiful sunrises and amazing work from the glass museum!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful journal pages, the light side of the person is gorgeous. The sunrises are amazing, I would be up to see them too. (we don't see sunrise here, too many houses in the way but do have beautiful sunsets in the summer). I hope you are doing well, Take care, Shirleyxx
ReplyDeleteGreat new header! Your sunrises are quite pretty and make a great background to work with. Perfect for the new AJJ theme, as are your heads, which I always enjoy. And its great to see that beautiful piece for second on the second. :) Glad we got to see a little more glass art too. Happy Fiday. Hugs-Erika
ReplyDeleteI love your warriors!!!
ReplyDeletethank you for your lovely glass pictures. You always show something interesting and love the tours!!
I love all your current and past pieces, Valerie. The "good" side is so beautiful, and clever to put the quote in the "empty", soulless side!
ReplyDeleteYour sunrise pictures are gorgeous. I love the glass bowl with the lizard, too.
so true, loveley pages and beautiful photographs as always - happy ppf and a relaxed weekend to you
ReplyDeleteWunderbare Journalseiten hast du wieder gezaubert! Mir gefällt die erste besonders gut. Toller Kontrast!
ReplyDeleteDeine Fotos sind auch wieder großartig! Tolle Himmelsimpressionen!
A terrific idea for your page today and what a great quote from Harry Potter.
ReplyDeleteThe second showing of you amazing piece is so well worth while Valerie with wonderful colours and images.
Terrific sunsets again and more wonderful glass works of art. Some of the things are just so inspiring and I want to have a go in my own way.
Thank you for sharing it all
Have a great day
Love Chrissie xx
Beautiful artwork and glass... thank you for sharing. I love seeing all these special pieces and your photos are stunning!
ReplyDeleteHugs Giggles
I love your new blog header. It fits your AJJ theme so well, too. Your latest AJJ entry is wonderful, and so is your Tolstoy inspired Second Look.
ReplyDeleteI am still in awe of the beautiful glass you shared with us today. I never get tired of seeing that, although I could never collect anything like that because I'm too much of a klutz.
Thanks for sharing your lovely AJJ art, your glassware photos, your glorious sunrises, and of course, your Second on the 2nd with us today.
Beautiful how you illustrated that quote in this page. And those pictures of the sun ....wow!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful page today Valerie, I really love that quote, especially this week! Wonderful sunset photos, you sure do have a lovely view! hugs :)
ReplyDeleteGorgeous style used on your lovely post, amazing quote and so true..., amazing colours too. Have a fun weekend.xx{aNNie}
ReplyDeleteI love your page today, beautiful and true. I will take that gorgeous multicolored glass vase, thank you.
ReplyDeleteI think you need to get in the queue!
DeleteAll Amazing!
ReplyDeleteYour work is always amazing! Love both journal pages you shared.
ReplyDeleteGosh, where to begin.... I love your two heads. That's what life is all about: light and darkness, ying and yang, good and evil etc.
ReplyDeleteI love your collage with the Tolstoy quote. I also get images from Gecko Galz but I haven't used any yet.
The sunrise images are beautiful. It must be good to get up early to see it.
The glass museum is amazing! I am envious, really! Those pieces are works of art but also miracles of craftmanship. I know a little bit about making glass (I have seen a few demonstrations) and what I see here is unbelievable. The black opaque item with the gold rim... how do they do it? The reptile crawling out of the bowl but being part of that bowl... That last one with the curly hair and the multicoloured sheen on it. So beautiful.
Thank you so much for sharing.
Happy Friday,
Lisca
This is truly a lovely post. I am so in touch with the first piece. It is something everyone needs to look at right now. Your photos and the glass art just beautiful.

ReplyDeleteI did so enjoy your blog today, Valerie. Your art is beautiful and the quotes so appropriate. Also, I am a fan of glass. I have lots in my house, not nearly as beautiful as the museum's glass, of course.

Your art speaks volumes to me. I've become very aware of the light and darkness inside of me lately. I'm doing everything in my power to concentrate on the light, and share it with others. Thanks so much for posting this. xo

Fabulous work and the first quote is so true. We all have our Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde and it is in our control who we choose to be. Lovely photos of dawn and glass sculptures.
ReplyDeleteVery profound art. The colors of your Art, the photos of the Dawns and Sunrises. The multi-colors in the middle Glass is most exquisite.
ReplyDeleteWow, what a impressive post!
ReplyDeleteGreat works.
Greetings from Germany
I almost missed this post as I follow by email and all of the Christmas adds buried it for a bit. SO glad I found it though and got to see the great art and more of the beautiful glass from your museum outing. I do so love glass art ♥♥♥♥ Now back to the crocheting for me so I'm done in time for Christmas.
ReplyDeleteGreat post Valerie - your heads are so versatile and this is another fabulous artwork using them. Love the quote.
ReplyDeleteThe glass pieces are amazing - all so different and probably made using different techniques maybe. Great photos.
I've been meaning to answer about the spice bars tasting - I think they would probably be mouldy by the time they got to Germany, however I can
re-assure you they are scrumptious as I have again tested them today with apricot filling :) Gill xxx
I've been consoling myself with home made shortbread today, so don't worry!
DeleteYour art pieces really speak to me! Thank you Valerie!!! They are wonderful!! Your art is so soulful!
ReplyDeleteLove your nature photos and really love the glass photos! Is that a glass crow? Love!
Big Hugs!
Wonderful pieces, I love your heads page, it has such a beautiful, warm feel to it. Those glass objects are amazing! I'm always fascinated to watch glassblowers at work. I'm sorry to hear that you have family members with Crohn's, I hope they're managing well and get all the care they need.
