Hi Everybody!
It's still hot, hot, hot and I think my brain is slowly frying in the heat!
I hope we will soon be back to our 'normal' weather, although
nothing seems to be normal these days!
For Art Journal Journey, Nature's Wonders - Gill's lovely challenge which ends in 3 days - I digitally changed a sunflower photo - the last one below, using a filter. Then I digitally cut the sunflower out, resized it, and added 2 more to my journal page, together with the lovely quote from Victor Hugo. This is a fun and easy technique, ideal for hot days when energy is low.
The walnuts are growing larger, I hope I can reach some of them to pick.
And here are the sunflowers in all their glory:
This ship is really huge!
Autumn is coming nearer, the berries are ready to be harvested by the birds:
Have a great day you all, take care,
and hanks a lot for coming by!
Hi Val, another beautiful post, love your sunflower theme. The photos are fantastic, as always. We just came home, so I'm heading for an early night! Hugs, Sarah
ReplyDeleteBeautiful Valerie.
ReplyDeleteSunflowers always put a smile on my face and that Victor Hugo quote is perfect too.
I see some leaves turning on some of the trees here in Virginia but it may be because of the scorching high heat.
I bet you will be welcoming cooler temps!
Fresh walnuts WOWEE and pretty berries too.
Sending cool thoughts your way oxo
p.s. I visited a sunflower farm a few days ago and will be sharing some pix for T next week.
I am looking forward to seeing your photos!
DeleteYour sunflower art is so lovely and beautiful! I love your photos as well, it looks like you have lots of bees, which is wonderful. Our garden hasn't had so many of them...
ReplyDeleteA gorgeous sunflower page. it looks like it is an oil painting with the super effects you used. Its a great quote as well. Awesome photos, I loved the one where you caught the bee calling in for a snack.
ReplyDeleteHave a good Sunday.

Amazing sunflowers page Valerie and great use of your photographs and the effects.
ReplyDeleteAll of the photographs so beautiful with such a variety. The ships seems to get bigger and bigger but what a great way to transport stuff.
Have a great day

ReplyDeleteThat digital oil paint effect is so cool.
Enjoyed todays walk with all the happy and cheerful sunflowers - good to see all the bees enjoying the flowers too.
Is it nearer December that the Walnuts are ready?
Have a great day - its cooler here today so hopefully same with you.
Gill xx
Still very hot here in spite of a stormy night! No idea when the walnuts are ready.
DeleteSuch pretty sunflowers. Great inspiring post as always Val. Take care T x
ReplyDeleteI love your gorgeous sunflowers - the real ones and the digitized. hugs, Teresa
ReplyDeleteGorgeous Sunflowers - we had Sunflowers right outside my craft room windows and I loved watching the little birds hanging upside down on the flower enjoying the seeds. The heaviness of the flower always made the droop over.

Great job with the sunflowers Valerie!!! I love the page you created with them ♥♥♥♥ Love all of the photos but the sunflowers are my favorite :) Have a great week my friend ♥
ReplyDeleteThis is all so beautiful Valerie! Oh how the sunflowers make me happy... as do your beautiful photos and art. Hope things cool off for you this week ahead!
ReplyDeleteIt must be wonderful seeing so many sunflowers together in one place - your digital page is fabulous! It certainly looks as though you are getting some warm weather - we are having quite mixed weather - one day in sandals and short sleeves, the next day shoes, socks and cardi!!! Hugs, Chrisx
ReplyDeleteAll your sunflowers are gorgeous! The art and your photos (which is art too as you know). It sure looks hot in your photos. Funny how when it is really hot you can see it in the colors of photos. There's got to be some physics of the light, but I don't know what it is, and I just like how you can tell. Hope it cools off soon. Hugs-erika
ReplyDeleteI live in the Sunflower state, so this digital entry you created is wonderful. Not sure what a filter is, because I have SO much to learn digitally (although I know what a filter is on a lens and in the darkroom).
ReplyDeleteI hope you get some walnuts, too. You should save some for dyeing, also. Photos from the river were wonderful in this post, too.
A digital filter works like a camera filter, but the effects are applied after the photo has been taken, It's a fun way of changing things! I still love to play!
DeleteI am so glad to have scrolled down and seen your sunflowers, really thought you had painted them. They look fabulous XOXO
ReplyDeleteOh WOW! Valerie!
ReplyDeleteWhat a treasure your sunflower piece is!! One of my new favorites for sure!! hugs my friend!
