Sunflowers

Hi Everybody!

It's still hot, hot, hot and I think my brain is slowly frying in the heat!
I hope we will soon be back to our 'normal' weather, although
nothing seems to be normal these days!

For Art Journal Journey, Nature's Wonders - Gill's lovely challenge which ends in 3 days - I digitally changed a sunflower photo - the last one below, using a filter. Then I digitally  cut the sunflower out, resized it, and added 2 more to my journal page, together with the lovely quote from Victor Hugo. This is a fun and easy technique, ideal for hot days when energy is low.

The walnuts are growing larger, I hope I can reach some of them to pick.

And here are the sunflowers in all their glory:

This ship is really huge!

Autumn is coming nearer, the berries are ready to be harvested by the birds:

Have a great day you all, take care,
and hanks a lot for coming by!

  2. Beautiful Valerie.
Sunflowers always put a smile on my face and that Victor Hugo quote is perfect too.
I see some leaves turning on some of the trees here in Virginia but it may be because of the scorching high heat.
I bet you will be welcoming cooler temps!
Fresh walnuts WOWEE and pretty berries too.
Sending cool thoughts your way oxo
p.s. I visited a sunflower farm a few days ago and will be sharing some pix for T next week.

  14. Gorgeous Sunflowers - we had Sunflowers right outside my craft room windows and I loved watching the little birds hanging upside down on the flower enjoying the seeds. The heaviness of the flower always made the droop over.

  17. It must be wonderful seeing so many sunflowers together in one place - your digital page is fabulous! It certainly looks as though you are getting some warm weather - we are having quite mixed weather - one day in sandals and short sleeves, the next day shoes, socks and cardi!!! Hugs, Chrisx

  18. All your sunflowers are gorgeous! The art and your photos (which is art too as you know). It sure looks hot in your photos. Funny how when it is really hot you can see it in the colors of photos. There's got to be some physics of the light, but I don't know what it is, and I just like how you can tell. Hope it cools off soon. Hugs-erika

  19. I live in the Sunflower state, so this digital entry you created is wonderful. Not sure what a filter is, because I have SO much to learn digitally (although I know what a filter is on a lens and in the darkroom).

I hope you get some walnuts, too. You should save some for dyeing, also. Photos from the river were wonderful in this post, too.

    1. A digital filter works like a camera filter, but the effects are applied after the photo has been taken, It's a fun way of changing things! I still love to play!
