Hi Everybody!
Nature's wonders is Gill's lovely theme at AJJ this month, where Gill is doing a great job as hostess. For my hybrid piece today I started with a painting made a couple of years back, using acrylics and pastel chalks. I painted the view from my balcony on a night where the moon hung huge and low and low in the sky (4th picture). I used a mask to make a frame, added the stars, clouds and angels from Mischief Circus, and the quote from Buddha.
I am also liking to Paint Party Friday, hosted as always by Eva and Kristin, and Moo Mania and More, moon:

The cow was painted from a photo taken last year, and then given a filter and mask to jazz it up a bit. I love watching the cows, they have such beautiful eyes, and they are really natural wonders:
And I have another cat doodle:
We had mixed weather this week - some sunshine, some rain, and cool enough to really enjoy walking:
I enjoyed my walk to a neighbouring village:
I walked through the park after passing the beautiful gates:
This holly tree was full of blackberries - another natural wonder?
I loved the flowers in the hedges:
And this strange fungus was growing out of the side of a dead tree - eek, it has a face in the middle! Can you see it? And there's a profile of a bearded man on the left! Can you find more?
Have a great day you all, take care,
and thanks a lot for coming by!
Another wonderful post, filled with beautiful art and photos, showing clearly your love of nature. The night sky is fantastic, as is the cow. And I could see the faces in that fungus, too funny! Hugs Sarah
ReplyDeleteGreat pages today Valerie. I'm not sure which is my favorite, but maybe the cow. I'm with you, cows have wonderful eyes. They seem so content just to eat grass and lumber around the field. They seem to be full of peace. And awesome photos. Those flowers are beautiful. I picked some blackberries in the woods near my house and they were so sweet and yummy. I hope you had a little snack too. Hope all is well. HugsErika
ReplyDeleteOh Valerie, your painting of the white cow is marvelous. The entire blog post is fantastic. Everything is so green and lovely, except the clouds and the fungus; however, it is interesting that you share these with us too, I enjoy the photos so much. (Doodled cat too)
ReplyDeleteHugs,

beautiful page for PPF! Your cow piece is so beautiful and a nice cat doodle too. Outstanding photos today, the blackberries look very juicy!
ReplyDeleteSuch a beautiful cow and painting.
ReplyDeleteWonderful top piece too.
I'm in awe of the cow painting. It looked like a photograph, it was so realistic. Simply beautiful.
ReplyDeleteYou captured some awesome photos of interest in that neighboring town. I have both blackberries and holly, but they would never coexist like that! Those were stunning photos.
Glad it's cooled for you. Today the heat index here was 109 F (~44 C).
Wow! Your cow painting is fabulous, you have such talent Valerie. Love your night time painting too, it gives off a lovely warm glow. The weather is cooler here too and we have rain today, the gardens are all like jungles with all the rain we've had this summer. Enjoy your day and thanks for the lovely "walk". Xx
ReplyDeleteFull to the brim today with unique art and fantastic photos! I am impressed by this amazing cow you created with a photo! Lovely made!!
ReplyDeleteHave a happy day Sweetie, here it is extremly cold - just 8 ° in the morning ----brrrr.

Terrific page Valerie with the beautiful Buddha quote. Your cow painting is fantastic and I am loving the doodled cats as well.
ReplyDeleteThe photographs are always wonderful as you walk along seeing everything with an artist's eye and taking views of things we wouldn't have thought of. Nature certainly is different through the eyes of someone who appreciates it.
Love Chrissie xx
Awesome creations once again Valerie. Love the words on the first and your cat doodle is so fun. These are perfect for one entry as an anything goes creation for our challenge below.

So many wondrous delights today. Cat doodles, etc;)
ReplyDeleteBlackberries on holly trees. Hmm, I'll have to have a little chat with mine. They aren't producing:)
Val, I love your cow picture. It's beautiful and moving. And you captured her gentle spirit in her eyes.
That Buddha quote is a favorite of mine and works so nicely with your beautiful starry night creation.
ReplyDeleteThe angels are precious high on their fluffy cloud.
I have wanted to say how lovely your blog header is too!
That cow looks like it was done by one of the old masters...really fab!

Wieder so ein wahnsinnig schöner Post von Dir, Valerie. Mir hat es die Kuh so angetan, bin hellauf begeistert.
ReplyDeleteWhat a fabulous Buddha quote on your beautiful page, Valerie! Wonderful cow painting and fun doodle cat. A super post today!
ReplyDeleteHugs, Mar
Your art pieces are always great! I especially love your moon piece, it's beautifully put together, magical and full of peace. I enjoyed visiting here again!
ReplyDeleteThat is a super Buddha quote to go on the journal page. Its a fabulous painting of the cow and I agree about the eye, deep dark and moody. Super cat doodles, they have amazing patterns, looks like you are having fun with the doodling.. I loved the photos again today and the lifelike bodies on the seat looked great.
ReplyDeleteYvonne xx
I really love your first piece Valerie but I love LOVE your cow a bit more...and what a fabulous grungy background too.
ReplyDeleteThe cat doodle is fabulous.
Great photos - and of course I spent ages looking at the faces on the tree fungus. I can see a large caterpillar wearing a hat facing left as well as man with beard and face in the green bit. There are two people kissing as well (her side profile facing left).
Gill xx
Your cow painting is amazing. I really thought it was a photograph. You are such a prolific artist. I think it is wonderful that you seem to create something, including photography, most every day. You are an inspiration to me. hugs, Teresa

There is so much to love here -- cows and cat doodles and Van Gogh-like skies and a wonderful town. Happy just being here!
ReplyDeleteYour posts are so wonderful! I love your art - especially that cow, but then I have a soft spot for cows! And then your photos - having just been in Germany, they are a fun reminder of my time there. I am very envious of the cool weather you are enjoying! xoxo Silke
ReplyDeleteThe cow painting is my favourite of the sumptuous feast of wonderful pieces.
ReplyDeleteHappy PPF, i'm happy you dropped by my blog today
much love...
I have fallen deeply in love with your cow ♥ His eyes speak to me ♥♥♥ Love the other art today too and the photos are beautiful . The fungus is really strange with it's beady little eyes and face ♥ We've been hot again all week. Yesterday with heat index of 104 F not a good day for trying to house break a puppy but he's coming along well.
ReplyDeleteVisiting and seeing your artistic eye in action is a definite pleasure. Love the creative artwork. I am an old farmer and have always loved cows. Your photography is always beautiful. The fungi is strange but neat at the same time. Loving all of it.
ReplyDeleteHugs and Blessings,

ReplyDeleteLovely Buddha quote and page! The clouds you have captured in your photos look like the one on your page, I think those two adorable cherubs must have been watching over you on your walk too :-). The village is very pretty, I love your photos of the gate and the hedgerow flowers, beautiful! Wishing you a lovely weekend! J :-)
ReplyDeleteLove the cow, Valerie. And how nice to see blackberries. They're classed as feral here in Australia so not encouraged at all. I miss going to pick them in the autumn.
ReplyDeleteGreat post. Hard to choose which ones I liked most. The cow and the cat are my favs. You have beautifully captured the cow's soulful eyes. Cat looks like he is getting ready for mischief. I like your banner. The village photos are lovely.

ReplyDeleteHere they were very early, and are almost past their best already.
DeleteBeautiful makes - especially the painting of the cow. I too love cows. Cows seem to know how to take life easy and not get in a big hurry.
