Hi Everybody!
Hope your weekend went well. We had a big storm in the night, with lots
of thunder and lightning, and lots of branches were blown off
the trees, but it was still extremely hot today - sigh!
For Art Journal Journey, nature's wonders, I have another of my quick flower paintings, made from some flowers I picked on my walk. The basic painting took 15 minutes, using water colours without drawing beforehand. Then I added the window, bird and leaves digitally.
And here before the frame was added:
I was up and out early again to avoid the hottest part of the day:
The birds are still busy harvesting:
These huge clouds gathered in the evening:
But after a stormy night the day dawned warm and sunny again:
Have a great day, take care,
and thanks a lot for coming by!
What a beautiful painting and I love the digital additions. The cloud photographs are amazing and the birds are sweet too.
ReplyDeleteLove your self picked flowers in the vase in both versions. Those clouds looked very threatening indeed. We had heavy storms in the night too. Hope you sleep better tonight. Hugs Sarah
ReplyDeleteAwesome pages, its a beautiful vase of flowers. They must be a joy to see in real life. Loved the digital version as well with the window.
ReplyDeleteThe photos are super especially liked today's sunset and sunrise ones.

beautiful art today and the photos are lovely too. It is at this time of year we start thinking we are ready for fall, as it is so muggy outside.
ReplyDeleteWhat fabulous digital page - I love your drawing and then the digital additions! Thunderstorms do not sound good - we have had days of rain and wind but so far no thunder and lightening! Love your photos - those clouds do look amazing! Hugs, Chrisx
ReplyDeleteAnother beautiful painting of flowers! Our weekend is coming to a close and you are on to Monday. It feels like fall already even though you are having a heat spell. Loved the photo of the clouds too!
ReplyDeleteHugs,
C
Nice window piece. It really looks like a window over you painting. Adding it digitally was a fantastic idea. Hoping it cools off like now. We had that heat a few weeks ago and I don't miss it. Its like living in the tropics. Hugs-erika

ReplyDeleteYour quick painting is amazing and beautiful Valerie and I love the scene you have created with it, with the addition of the digital pieces.
ReplyDeleteOne of your cloud photos looked particularly evil - no wonder you had an awful storm. Hope its been better today. Its not been quite as hot today so I managed to do some work in the garden but I think its due to get hot again.
Have a good evening..... Gill xx
Great painting Valerie! WE have had night storms here too with hot, hot humid days .. i was up and out with the dog super early this morning too hoping to avoid the heat. Now we are waiting for the sun to go down for our evening walk.
ReplyDeletebeautiful flower painting and scene Valerie. Oh how I love a good thunderstorm-so long as there is no real damage. It is VERY hot here yet too, but I don't mind:)
ReplyDeleteI can't believe you could paint that in about 15 minutes. You are a wonder and a true inspiration. Adding the digital window adds a bit of mystery to the painting itself.
ReplyDeleteI wish it were cooler for you. It's hot here, too. Thankfully, I can escape to my air conditioned office when all else fails and I don't want to use the AC in the entire house. I'm really wishing for cooler weather, but it isn't showing in my forecast.
Super gorgeous photos, Valerie, and I love that window in your painting. hugs, Teresa
ReplyDeleteValerie, your painting is lovely. You do such a good job with water! I have trouble with painting that.
ReplyDeleteYour flowers are just lovely! And the added window, makes them all that more attractive!
ReplyDeleteLove your cloud photos- beautiful!
