Last day of inspired by autumn colours

Hi Everybody!

Here's wishing you all a good start in the new week.

Today is the last day of out challenge 'Inspired by autumn colours' at Art Journal Journey. We had lots of wonderful entries, and you still have a few hours if you want to join in! But please come back tomorrow to see what the new challenge will be.

I made a collage of most of my journal pages again:

For 99 Faces and colours of autumn I made this face, drawn in black ink, painted with water colours and stamped. Not my fave face, but that's okay. Not all faces are lovely, neither in life nor on paper!

I took more photos of my vase when the sun shone in this morning,

Today was very windy, and the gulls were soaring about in a group, looked like they were just having fun:

And suddenly they all stopped and sat on the railings to rest:

Have a great day you all, take care,
and thanks a lot for coming by!

Plenty of seabirds like the red legs.

  3. The shadow on the vase photos is amazing. It looks like a piece of art in itself. Its been a great theme this month and I like how you do that little end of the month collage. And of course the new face is quite the face. She looks like a rather "punk" girl with a few tattoos. But that's not a bad thing even if it isn't your favorite. Hope your week starts off on a good foot.

  6. Wonderful photographs with the blue reflections-it all looks magical. Nice to see the seagulls are still out in force-not many here now at all.

Such beautiful work for the whole of the month Valerie and a really lovely face today with lucious lips. Will certainly be looking forward to what is in store for December

    Have a great day

  8. I just love collage and yours is exceptional insofar as there is no clash despite the time lapse between each painting ... "the whole being greater than the sum of the parts".

Geometric shapes of the rails need to be drawn on paper... and Seagulls are highly appropriate to my project

  9. Wow, I fell asleep last night and just woke a few minutes ago. I apologize, but I have not had a chance to read your message. My bad, but you can blame it on after Thanksgiving workload.

Your current "model" has simply GORGEOUS eyes. Really, really beautiful eyes.

Your vase and reflection are superb. I would say that's either lucky shots, or well calculated.

I laughed at the gulls, and wondered if that was paint on the railings (grin).

    1. The shadows of the vase are totally fascinating, and I see them just for a few minutes when the sun shines in at a certain angle.

  17. I really am here and do enjoy looking at all your art work. I pretend that I am there when looking at your photos. Sorry I have not been commenting - surgery the last part of October and loads of company here for Thanksgiving. I probably will not craft until next year.

  23. Valerie, your vase reflection photo is amazing and truly beautiful. It would make a terrific piece framed and hung on the wall. It was fun to go over all of your autumn pieces in your collage today. Now it is time for a change come Dec. 1st. I can hardly believe we are in the last month of the year.

  24. I love this post Valerie. The collage of all the fall pages is just a feast for my eyes - the colors are just all my favorites and your artwork all combined is FABULOUS to see. And silly as it seems - I love this face because it IS unique and different. You know what it reminds me of???? ME. I used to mow on a zero turn mower - very fast - and my hair would fly up, bird/leaves all around me and I would go through terrible spider webs and my face probably looked a lot like your face here!!!! I also like this face because you painted it etc! I think I am a little behind in liking the digital things as well as the originals. This one I really like!! And the vase - isn't that lovely - how it makes it's own designs with the shadows behind it.

I am so far behind leaving comments. I love to leave comments so it makes me sad not to talk to you more lately. BUT... always know I am reading them! Love them all. And love you too. Hugs. j.

PS. Thanks bunches and bunches for your encouraging comments to me. They mean sooo much.

  25. The collage of pages looks particularly fantastic this month since they share the colour theme of Autumn - glorious work. Love the shadow of the glass vase - how beautiful.
