Weekend Post

Hi Everybody!

Here's to a great weekend for us all, and to peace and safety for this world, which is once again being torn apart by wars started by evil people, for example in Ukraine and in Israel.

I am sharing 2 more pieces made in the LB taster sessions. This is my version of #TamaraLaport's autumn face, I always love the colours of Autumn:

This was the lesson from #AngelaMurray. I had fun making it, but it turned out a tad too bright and colourful, you need shades to look at it! But I tried!

This was the sunrise on Tuesday, so beautiful. Nature is definely the best artist!

These photos were taken at the Rhine this morning when I went to do my shopping. It all looks grey in grey without the sun. But I like to visit the river every day when I can. But it is a bumpy walk over the cobble stones to get there with my rollator!

And of course, I  ouldn't go past the bakery without having a cappuccino.... On the left of the counter, underneath, are some pink glazed donuts. They are sold in aid of breast-cancer support:

This was not taken at the Rhine, I think it must be a fake, but it's funny:

And more thinkies / funnies:

Have a great weekend, take care,
And thanks a lot for coming by!

  6. The adornment on that lady’s neck looks suspiciously like a maple leaf, Valerie, so immediately my patriotic Canadian heart started to beat a little faster, and her already magnetic allure increased exponentially. Perhaps that’s the spot where her beaus are invited to place their kiss. It’s good that you have your art to turn to in times of extreme distress like this. It must be therapeutic to at least some degree, although it’s impossible to ignore what is happening in Israel and Gaza, and the scale of human suffering is beyond comprehension. What strange gene is it that humans have that motivates them over and over again to savagely attack each other and inflict such barbarism? Perhaps this weekend you will be lunching with Heike and that will be at least a diversion for a while. Stay well. Hugs and kisses - David

    1. I love those red maple leaves, and for me they are a sign of autumn! I need to do something to keep myself busy just now, it helps me to keep my mind off things, at least for a short time. And the sight of all those Palestinians travelling to the south is also heart-breaking, so many people in danger because of those hateful mosters in the Hamas.
I wish you a great weekend, take care, have fun birding! BIG hugs xxxxxxx

  7. Hi Val, I'm a bit late today, I've been doing the photos for my project, they're more or less done. Now I have to go throught them, sort out the ones I want, and then edit them. It will keep me busy for this afternoon and tomorrow. Good that the kids are all at leah's this weekend! Love your art, as always, especially the beautiful face, which I love. Have a great weekend, hugs, Sarah

  9. Love both of your colour palettes, I'm a. I'm afraid I didn't do anything for this year's LB tasters. The Muse just hasn't been with me now for a couple of weeks. Hope you have a good weekend, hugs Deb.

  12. I have been glued to the news and finally took a break from it watching Hallmark mystery reruns because I know everything will come out OK and I don't have to think. Pathetic, yes? But that's what our world has driven us to. I love your art piece tday and yes, so good to work art when there is such pain in the world.

  13. Our world is not in a good place at the moment, to say it is concerning is an understatement! I just do my best to make my small part of the world especially my family (and friends) an okay place to be and let them know I love and appreciate them.

I liked your art today and the photographs are great.
Such a good selection of funnies too.

Take good care and have a restful Sunday.

    All the best Jan

  15. Your paintings are so lovely Valerie-even the bright one. So you have to wear sunglasses- hee-hee. It looks like you had fun and enjoyed yourself. And right now some pink donuts would taste good; it's just my usual breakfast shake this morning. I love the face-those green eyes are perfect for the autumn colors you chose. I hope you are having a wonderful Sunday. I want mine to be low key! hugs-Erika
