Midweek Post

Hi Everybody!

I have been busy with the Lifebook Taster sessions, and yesterday I decided to make #TamaraLaport's fun owl, as I needed to cheer myself up. Tamara's was a bit different, but at least I tried, and it is fun and colourful! And it does fit in with the strange birds of Balconia.by-the Rhine!

And some thinkies and funnies:

That's all for today.  I'll be back on Friday.

Have a great day, take care,
And thanks a lot for coming by!

  8. That is a very creative and colourful owl, Valerie. I should have it printed poster size and take it along to show the Eastern Screech Owl in Bechtel Woods to show him what his cousin in Balconia-by-the-Rhine looks like. He will either die of shock or keel over with envy, I am not sure. Truth be told though, he looks very smart in his somber suit of greys, like a politician dressed for a photo op. I would make a very poor politician, for many reasons (one of which is that I have a love affair with the truth), but I would refuse to wear that dark suit and tie day after day after day. Who and when deemed that men should wear a piece of coloured bunting around their necks every day? And when did men agree to slavishly follow the trend? It is at least five years since I wore a tie, maybe a little longer. It was for Heather’s wedding and I can’t remember what year that was, but Lily is now three and a half years old. And I own but one suit, bought in 2003. It hangs in its plastic bag in the closet, emblazoned with the name of the bespoke tailor from whom I acquired it. It’s a very good thing that men’s fashions don’t change! Hugs and kisses - David

    1. Hi David, nice to see you here. i thought you would find my owl interesting, she loves to fclaunt her lovely colours and shock others into falling off their branches. I have one 'good' costume if I need to go somewhere, but I enjoy being able to wear whatever I like these day, with no contrictions or uniforms. At school we always wore uniform, later at university we were expected to wear the ugly -green-yellow-blue striped blazer and / or our gowns. I think all people, even politicians, should be allowed to dress normally. My husband never even wore a suit to our wedding, we wanted a hippy celebration, and everybody was shocked. Yess, we enjoyed shocking them all! So keep wearing what you like, be comfortable, keep warm, keep cool and have fun! Hugs xxxxxxx

  9. Love your fabulous colourful owl--just reading all the comments-I was married in Dec 1969 and it had snowed for three days before-bit I got married in a red and black dress, red shoes and tweed coat and we turned up in our BIL Yorkshire Dry Dock van-my parents gave it 6months and a bottle of sherry for a wedding present and it's our 54th wedding anniversary this December!
