Hi Everybody!
Here's wishing us all a great weekend.
My internet is flackering on and off, so I hope I manage to get my post done. Today was very busy, various appointments, shopping, visited Heike, did some painting and all of a sudden it was evening, it just sort of sneaked up on me. I needed a bit of fun and made a page reminiscent of the childhood books I loved, where the little people lived in spotted toadstools and the world was a happy place:
And I am showing another tag I made for Tag Tuesday. This is a face I like very much, and I have used it in many pieces:
The evening sky today:
A plane obliged me by flying away just at the moment I clicked:
So, dear friends, that's all for today. I'm heading for bed!
Have a great weekend, take care,
And thanks a lot for coming by!
Lovely art Valerie and beautiful skies
ReplyDeleteThanks Christine, happy weekend!
DeleteHi Val, good morning. Love the art this morning, so beautiful. I remember the stories about little Noddy and Big Ears, I loved them too. The tag is beautiful, too! Hugs from us all, Sarah
ReplyDeleteThanks Sarah, love was less complicated back then! Hugs!
DeleteLove both pieces, they feel so Autumnal! I do love red, white spotty mushrooms too. My internet was intermittent yesterday too. My mobile phone is out until Sunday, since last Monday. Enjoy the weekend. Hugs, Deb
ReplyDeleteThanks Deb. Modern technology is great - when it functions! Have a great weekend, hugs, Valerie
DeleteOh Valerie I so love this, whimsical autumnal design. Such fun but what an incredible design. You should get this printed out as a poster, postcards or greeting card it would brighten everyones day. Amazing creation, glad you had fun creating it.
ReplyDeleteYour tag is fantastic, so much texture and detail still to discover!! Tagtastic.
I will be back soon to see what you have been up to over the past few weeks. This weekend my Son is visiting and we have to catch up on too as I have not seen him for 6 months. Sending creative hugs your way take care Tracey xx
Thanks Tracey! I don't have anyone to send cards to. But please tell free to print it out and use it if you would like to! Hugs!
DeleteI am quite sure that I would very much enjoy living in a spotted toadstool, Valerie, and perhaps you would come and visit me there. We could have tea and muffins, sheltered from the raindrops by the overarching natural umbrella formed by the roof of our house. No doubt other friends would come to visit too, friendly beetles, curious slugs, a snail would slither along to say hello, and, especially for you a fat, juicy spider. Just think how pleasant it would be. And we wouldn’t have WIFI so we’d be free of the urge to constantly connect with the world and absorb all the bad news. We’d have to pick our forest very carefully, however, since we are routinely burning them all across the world, so we need a very moist temperate rain forest. Here in Canada the province of British Columbia has such habitat, and I know you would enjoy it out on the coast, with many wise indigenous people to offer us counsel and help us to understand the ecosystem. Let me know when you wish to arrive and I’ll get everything arranged. In the meantime, I’ll initiate the search for a perfect toadstool, one with spots of course. I’m excited. So much to look forward to. Hugs and kisses - David
ReplyDeleteNow, wouldn't that be nice! Back to a simple life .and living in a toadstool. But spiders would have to stay away! I sometimes think it would be nice to get away from our civilisation, which isn't really civil, and live somewhere where the world is still whole. I never stop dreaming! Enjoy your weekend, hugs, xxxxx
DeleteA fun page with all the toadstools and a simply fabulous tag with wonderful detail work! Have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much Carol, happy weekend!
DeleteHappy Saturday Valerie. It is raining here this morning. Guess it will be a good art day. :) I love your fall feeling piece with the little gnome. And your tag is really gorgeous. I can see why you've used that face before. I also like how you added some crackle feel to part of the tag. It's perfect for an autumn piece. I hope you have a fun weekend, and get some rest too. I'm curious about those theological mysteries. Hmm. Father Brown perhaps? Hugs-Erika
ReplyDeleteThanks Erika. No, I'm not reading Father Brown, there is a lot of religion in Chesterton's books. I've been reading some Kindle books, not great literature but interesting for me. They are 'unholy ghosts' and ' clerical errors' by Greenwoor! Have a great day, hugs!
DeleteI love your whimsical piece. I can't resist red dotted mushrooms and the colors are simply wonderful! The tag is pretty too. Sounds like a busy weekend! Keep enjoying!
ReplyDeleteThanks Jeanie! Those toadstools are so pretty, we find a lot round here.. Happy weekend, hugs!
DeleteWhat a fabulous painting, the richness of the colours looks amazing and I love the fun autumnal subject 😊. Your tag is amazing too with all that crackle - perfect! So lovely to see your evening sky, very beautiful! Take care and happy weekend! Hugs, Jo x

DeleteI do like your toadstools and the gnome, beautiful colours.
ReplyDeleteVery nice tag too.
That was very nice of the plane to fly into your photograph - it's a great one :)
Enjoy your weekend, here in my part of the UK we have been enjoying sunny skies.
All the best Jan
Thanks Jan, usually the planes disappear before you can click the shutter, this time I got it! Have a lovely Sunday!
DeleteWonderful page, love the hand painting, drawing, colors. And the tag is very pretty, the stenciled embossing paste on the side is fab. Hope your internet quits misbehaving, that is never fun. Happy weekend, xoxo
ReplyDeleteThanks Aimeslee, today the internet seems to be running as it should! Have a great Sunday, hugs!
DeleteA beautiful post my friend, , such a pretty colourful one too xx

DeleteHi Val, love your beautiful page, can I please make a print of it for my grandson's room? He would love it! The funny owl you made some time back is on his wall, too! Have a great new week, take care, hugs, Martha
ReplyDeleteOff course you can, Martha, I love to think that it will make him happy! Hugs!
DeleteWhat a fun and fabulous scene Valerie, I love it and your tag is just gorgeous, love the crackle, I forget about my crackle, must go find it, and just to let you know, I lost my blog over the weekend, my son was installing Chromecast and fiddled about and my blog vanished, tried restoring but no luck, so looks like I'm going to have to start over..
ReplyDeleteLuv CHRISSYxx
Oh no, I am so sorry. All your beautiful art. What a pity! Perhaps it's stored somewhere by Google? Hugs!
DeleteLove all the Techniques you applied to that Tag, it's Beautiful and just the Style I like too. And, is there anything Sweeter than a Spotted Toadstool? I think not.
ReplyDeleteWhen I see a spotted toadstool 🍄 while out walking, I'm 5 years old again and want to live there!
