Hi Everybody!
Time flies, and October is here already - have a great month. We had a great first of the month, warm and sunny, and I was out nearly all day with Heike, we sort of wandered from one restaurant to the next, and enjoyed ourselves very much. I forgot to take my smartphone so have no photos, But I do have some from our visit last week. This evening we will begin celebrating Elizabeth's T sTands for Tuesday drink meeting, so here a warm welcome to all of the nice ladies of the T Gang who visit here.
I love this photos, it just makes me happy!
This week there was an article in our local newspaper about coffee, and it explained why sometimes a pinch of salt or some sugar makes the coffee taste better. I've never tried it with salt!
And after my x-rays I sat here and enjoyed a large cappuccino to revive me:
And on Wednesday Heike and I went to our fave Pizzeriaa Roma for some food:
Heike ate a spinach and broccoli cheese-bake:
And I had Penne with salmon in creamy tomato sauce:
As always we drank our non-alcoholic wheat beer:
Some funnies:
Another coffee cup:
Early morning from my balcony - always so beautiful:
And early morning at the Rhine:
Have a happy T Day, take care,
And thanks a lot for coming by!
Hi Val, good morning! Hope you slept well, and that your week gets off to a good start. Have fun, take care, hugs from us all, Sarah
ReplyDeleteThanks Sarah! Hope you all have a lovey week, too! Hugs!
DeleteI had a German pen friend called Heike. I still have an orange ceramic candle holder she sent me, all these years on. Your plates of food look yummy. Oh! and I have found a non
ReplyDeletealcoholic Perry {pear cider} which is most acceptable. Have a great October!: Hugs Deb
Heike is a name you find a lot here. The food was yummy, and I ate all of my noodles, it was soooo good. I didn't need anything else all day! Perry is nice, glad you found one without alcohol. When we go to the restaurant they always know what we drink, we don't need to say anything! Have a great week! Hugs!
DeleteGood morning, Valerie: I am very happy to see Heike sitting there with her trademark big smile. If I remember correctly you said recently she had been sick and you were acting as the Florence Nightingale of Balconia-by-the-Sea, and took care of her. You must have done a great job, because there she is, right before our eyes, eating heartily and quaffing her non-alcoholic drink. The first picture this time of the dog and the woman laughing is a classic. It made me laugh out loud, and then I passed it around to Miriam and to my daughter and son-in-law and everyone chortled over it. We had a great visit, but they are heading out this morning. They both have to be back at work tomorrow. Thank goodness I don’t have to do that any more. Last night for dinner I made arroz con pollo and a Greek salad, and it was enjoyed by everyone. We had Portuguese wine so it was an international banquet. A new week is opening up before you. Enjoy. Big hugs and kisses for you and Heike - David
ReplyDeleteI'm with you and that first photo. Smiling dogs and people together...what can be better? Add a nice drink completes it. And it sounds like you and Heike have had some great times lately. I went out to eat several times last week too, which was a lot of fun. :) I hope you continue to have some lovely October weather. Here too. Plus the best part is after a lovely warm day the nights still cool off enough to sleep well. Happy early T day and new week to you. hugs-Erika
ReplyDeleteEating out is fun! Happy T Day, hugs!
DeleteDelicious food and drink Valerie, hilarious memes! -Christine cmlk79.blogspot.com
ReplyDeleteThanks Christine, hugs!
DeleteLooks like you had a wonderful time with Heike. Eating out is fun, and it's great you have a friend who enjoys it as much as you. That first photo of the woman and and the dog was wonderful, but I was really impressed with Heike's spinach and broccoli cheese bake. MY kind of meal.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing your lovely photos of your food and various drinks, as well as your funnies and thinkies with us for T this Tuesday, dear Valerie. Hope you are resting and doing well.
Thanks E. The cheese and broccoli bake is really fabulous - everything there is! Hugs!
DeleteIt looks like a perfect day was spent with your friend enjoying the local food and drinks. Beautiful photos, thanks for sharing them. I too just love that first photo with the old woman and old dog laughing together! It makes my heart happy every time I see it. Happy Tuesday!

Thanks Alison, that food was delicious! Hugs!
DeleteAlways a pleasure to visit your blog. I love that photo of the lady and her dog. Laughter is contagious! Heike seems like a nice friend. Always a treat to dine with someone who is compatible with you.
ReplyDeleteLaughter is really contagious, and that's good so! Heike and I get along very well together and help each other. That's good!
DeleteUwielbiam kawę i włoską kuchnię . Piękne fotografie. Przesyłam serdeczne pozdrowienia . A piwo bez alkoholowe te z lubię;))
ReplyDeleteOh yes, these are the fine things which make our days special!
DeleteLoving the photos but oh! the food, I could eat either of those they are both my favourites. The photo of the dog with the lady is brilliant, I've seen my little girl dog look like that and she really looks as though she is smiling though it is believed that dogs can't smile but I don't believe that and someone needs to tell my Mini Schnauzer that Lol! Wishing you a very happy and creative week. Hugs, Angela xXx
ReplyDeleteI am sure dogs and cats can smile and enjoy fun, just as well as they can be sad or feel sadness in others! Hugs!
DeleteWow, the light in your early morning photographs is lovely.
ReplyDeleteThe food and drink that you and Heike enjoy always looks great .
All the best Jan
I have a wonderful view from my balcony! Hugs!
DeleteHave a wonderful week — your health seems to have improved and I hope it stays that way.
ReplyDeletebest, mae at maefood.blogspot.com
Thanks Mae, I have good days here and there! Hugs!
DeleteI shall be chuckling for a good while at Pooh's profanity, lol. Heike is such a good sport for your photos, and I'll have what she had. Hope your week is a wonderful one, xoxo
ReplyDeleteYes, that made me LOL too, Aimeslee! Okay, I'll tell the waiter to bring you your portion! Hugs!
DeleteGosh, sorry, fibromyalgia brain fog at work, forgot to add about that coffee article. Over here, they tell us that if you want the coffee caffeine to last longer and not spike your blood sugar as much, then put some fat in it. For most people that means cream but I'm lactose intolerant, so I add a thin slice of real butter to my empty cup. Hey, it's dairy too. What it also helps me with is not having to pee like a racehorse a million times after only a cup. Don't know why but it's magic! haha xoxo
ReplyDeleteI must try that, but it sounds strange. I always put milk in my coffee, but I know what you mean about peeing like a racehorse! Hugs!
DeleteWhat a wonderful post of lovely photos and funnies LOVE it xx
ReplyDeleteThanks so much, dear Annie, hugs!
DeleteThat photo made me smile too.
ReplyDeleteLovely photos of the Rhine. And great food at the Italian restaurant.

Thanks so much Nancy, the view from my balcony is the best thing about my apartment! Have a great day, hugs, Valerie
DeleteHi Valerie, gorgeous photos from your balcony as usual, never tried coffee with salt and I haven’t had sugar in tea or coffee for years.
ReplyDeleteHappy T Day. Jan S
I've never triedx salt in coffee either, and I also never take sugar in drinks! Have a great day, hugs, Valerie
DeleteThat first photo starts the day off right. Great post. Glad you got out with your friend. I know a guy that puts pepper in his coffee. I mean a lot of it. eeekkk!!! That never set right with me. LOL I don't like anything in my beer either. Have the best day today.
ReplyDeleteThanks Nicole. I don't like strange additions to my drinks either. Pepper, salt- what next? Hugs!
DeleteI thought I left a comment but don't see it now... Happy October!
ReplyDeleteI used to put salt in the grounds in my coffeemaker and am not sure when I quit doing that. I was told it helped with any bitterness. That food looks delicious. It looks like you have a lovely place for walking. Your photos are always so pleasant!
Happy T Tuesday!
Thanks so much, happy T Day, Valerie
DeleteHi Valerie, great photos today, that one of the woman and the dog lol, and your beautiful sunrises (also the Pooh one lol) Have a great week. Happy T Day! Elle xx
