Hi Everybody!
This week the Lifebook Taster Sessions have started, so I'm keeping myself busy watching videos, printing out instructions, and getting started on the first pieces. I have to take things very slowly just now, as I have so little energy, but I'm planning on watching everything, making screen shots and notes, and then I can work on the lessons bit by bit as I can. I started off with Cinnamon Cooney, the Art Sherpa, who showed us how to make a colourful cow. It looked very easy as she made it, but it wasn't! And we were allowed to paint outside the lines - great! My paper buckled a bit, so I need to flatten it. I did my best and this was the result:
I think your cow looks amazing Valerie. Wouldn't it be fun if cows were really that colorful? And that Japanese Garden is beautiful. I can see why you like to walk there; I would too. I hope you start feeling perkier soon. Hugs-Erika
ReplyDeleteThanks Erika, it would be fun indeed to see fields full of such colourful beings! Have a great day, hugs!

DeleteYour colourful cow is sweet and that Japanese garden is lovely. I hope your health improves soon. It's frustrating to not be able to do the things you usually enjoy, but I commend you for making the best of your slow down time. Blessing hugs, Teresa
ReplyDeleteThanks Teresa, I'm trying to make the best of it!
DeleteI think your colourful cow is quite wonderful, Valerie, and being allowed to stray over the lines makes perfect sense to me. After all, most of us have spent our entire lives doing that from time to time. You are very brave to tackle all these new challenges during a period when your energy level is at a low ebb, and even simple tasks seem daunting, and tiring. Seems there should be some miracle food to boost your get-up-and-go, but I fear that's not the case. The Japanese Garden is tranquil and beautiful, and I too am very taken with the statue. I am not sure whether riding the tram out there is an option at present, but if it is it would seem like wonderful therapy. Hugs and kisses. David
ReplyDeleteHi David, glad you like the colourful cow. It's good that I have some occupation just now, it takes my mind off things. I don't know about miracle food but I#m making fried potatoes and eggs, sunny side up for lunch, yummy! It's 5 minutes on the tram to the Nord Park, and I always choose times when there aren't too many people travelling. The Japanese garden is very relaxing. And there's a café in the park which I feel obliged to patronise and drink a nice cappuccino! When the rain stops I will go again! Have a great day, take care, hugs!
DeleteLove the pastels in your art. And the Japanese garden is awesome. So peaceful and serene.
ReplyDeleteThat, Glenda, it's one of my fave places!

DeleteWhat a fantastic post Valerie! I love seeing all this surrealism. You've made some spectacular art for sure. I felt like I was at a museum. Marc Chagall is one of my favorites. I'm glad to see him included here as you don't hear much about him on blogs. And I always love your heads. I remember a few of these. This is such a good post. I hope it didn't wear you out writing it. Hope the day is going well. Hugs-Erika
ReplyDeleteThanks Erika. By the time I was finished with the pot and getting my heads sorted I had problems to remember who I am! Have a great day!
DeleteI like your colourful cows.

All the best Jan
The cow is great fun and I love today's pix. It sounds as though you are respecting your body, not overdoing, but doing which is always good. Please take care.
