Colourful art and beautiful nature

Hi Everybody!

It's nearly weekend again, where did the week go? It just seems to have disappeared again. I have been making the most of the good weather and have walked a lot, met up with friends, had fun at Art Group and of course, I took lots of photos of everything I saw.

Today I am sharing an A2 (17" x 24") page I made recently at Art Group. I am still enjoying playing with geometric shapes and bright colours. After painting the page with gesso I used fluid acrylics to paint the circles and squares and an Edding pen to outline them and draw the lines:

Then I used a stencil to make the patterns and Mona.
(Mona is from Stencilry. Org)

Linking to Paint Party Friday

I will be turning this into another art tote.

And I have some more photos taken in the Botanical Gardens of The Heinrich-Heine-University and Südpark:

This is a tobacco plant:

Beautiful colours.

The sheep resting by the Rhine:

Beautiful flowers and ducks at Südpark:

Have a great day, take care,
and thanks a lot for coming by!

  4. Your piece will make a fabulous tote. The flowers are so pretty for end of season. The lambies taking a rest made me smile. Wonder if they got sleepy counting themselves. Awww, a little black lambie, so cute. Enjoy the start of your weekend.

  10. The thing that struck me about your abstract art was how beautifully the circles overlapped. I love how you made those colors seem so realistic. This was a fabulous painting. It will make a great conversational tote, too.

The lambs and ducks were so cute today. I bet the lambs will be glad when they are sheered. They look quite warm to me. Beautiful photos as always, dear Valerie.

  16. Wonderful art! I love the modern take and your liquid acrylic application is so precise, I'm not sure it would have been so neat if I painted it ...lol 😉. The botanical gardens look beautiful, I have the white anemone in a shady part of my garden, it's so bright and elegant. Wishing you a happy Friday and weekend! Hugs, Jo x

  17. I like that Mona Lisa stencil. It doesn't look exactly like her image, but it creates enough of an image that we can kinda "fill in the blanks" with our mind. Very nifty!

Your photos are lovely, as usual. I'm especially taken by the close-ups of the flowers. Sometimes, we don't realize how amazingly beautiful and/or unusual something is until we get a good close look at it. Also, being someone who often marches to her own drummer, I'm glad to see the black sheep are accepted by the rest of the flock. :)

Have a loverly weekend. The temperature is wonderfully cool this morning, and it feels heavenly.

Great photos of the plants and the ducks. It good to see there is still some colourful flowers around and the animals seem to be enjoying the autumn sunshine.

  19. That is going to be a fantastic tote Valerie. I adore those bright colors. They are perfect for something made with shapes. And I can see why you used shapes as they really are very cool without all the fussy backgrounds usually used by many of us. And this garden looks like a great place to visit. I love seeing all the veggies, sunflowers and animals. They are all so good for soul, aren't they? happy Friday. Hugs-Erika
