Hi Everybody!
Another week is flying by, autumn is stretching its fingers towards us with cooler temperatures, rain, shorter days and changing colours in nature.
And I like it!
Today I am sharing another tag for Joan's lovely 'trees' challenge at
Tag Tuesday. I used some painted and textured card for the background, matted with some yellow card. I sewed some painted strips on, and added 2 TH branch tree die-cuts. The birds were made with a Martha Stewart punch. The gold Stickles represent the autumn leaves. I chose the title because at the moment we still have a chance to save nature and the world around us by doing something to stop the universal climate change:
Last week I showed this handmade album. Now it is finished and filled with a selection of varied journal pages. I am showing a few here:
The Hebrew text is the first verse of Genesis - In the beginning God created heaven and earth, and the earth was without form, and void....
And I wanted to show a few of the journals I have made in the past few years, at least those that I still have:
Sorry about my feet, my arms weren't long enough to stand farther back!
This Frida Kahlo album is made to be like her blue house:
A Halloween Album:
I am linking to Paint Party Friday
Getting ready to go out:
Impressions of autumn:
Have a great day, take care,
and thanks a lot for coming by!
Beautiful tree tag. Great Autumn colors in it. I like your journal pages, and the assortment of journals you've made over the past few years look lovely. Fantastic Fall foliage photos. Your colors look like they're a little ahead of mine, in changing color, but then you're also farther north than I am. The weather has been very nice here in Connecticut USA now that the Summer heat is over.
ReplyDeleteThanks Anne! I think the hot and dry summer is partly to blame that the leaves are turning so early this year.
DeleteHi Val. Love your beautiful tree tag, such gorgeous autumn colours and an important message for us all. Lovely to see all your albums together. I have 3 here, too! The autumn photos are beautiful. We were in the park this afternoon. It was raining, but S wanted to try out her new wellies and umbrella! Have a nice evening, hugs, Sarah
ReplyDeleteHi Valerie xx What a fabulous post you are sharing tonight with so many delights enclosed x I love your tag and fabulous album, filled with so many wonderful pages. Your albums look amazing and I am so envious as I have several that are not completed x Love the photo of you and I hope you had a lovely day. Gorgeous photos of those amzing trees xx
ReplyDeleteHuge hugs Annie xx
Thanks so much Annie!
DeleteWe are starting to get our first hints of fall colours here, although it will still be a couple of weeks until the full glory of autumn is a sight not to be missed. Our forests are filled with fungi. Every time I look new species seem to be popping up. This is a season to make squash soups and enjoy all the other local produce. Have a great weekend coming up.
ReplyDeleteMy Weekend will ne including Squash soup, so delicious
DeleteHi Valerie, lovely to see your latest piece - I can even see the shapes of trees in the background. Its delightful.
ReplyDeleteThe way you've collated all your pieces and made albums (including Frida's house) is lovely and are artpieces in and of themselves. Great photos of them all too (feet included lol).
Great to see that shot of you too - you look beautifully dressed for a walk.
Gorgeous to see all the leaves and flowers and signs of the changing season. All the very best to you :D) xx
Happy PPF too :D) xx

ReplyDeleteVery inspiring post Valerie. I want to learn how to make more journal books this coming year-they are just so cool. Lover your tag too very beautiful. we don't have much in fall colors-usually here mid October
ReplyDeleteBeautiful autumn tag and am impressive collection of your albums! You look smart all ready to go out and embrace the fall colours.
ReplyDeletehow are your fingers doing Valerie?
ReplyDeleteThanks for asking. Better than last year, but some days better than others. I still have problems with my fingers freezing up and not moving, but I have to be contented as it is!
Deletemy fingers are sometimes stiff in the mornings, must be arthritis
DeleteYes, it is, let's hope it doesn't get worse!
DeleteNice tag Valerie, and I really enjoyed all the art today. It is like an online museum tour. You have some cool journals and your pages in your new journal are great. I especially love the sky scene you showed. And I love the variety of journal covers. Including the palace. And you look ready for a nice walk. Your photos show some beautiful autumn color. It is that time, isn't it? Happy end of the week. Hugs-Erika
ReplyDeleteLove all your fab journals
ReplyDeleteValerie! I think it's my first time here. What a wonderfull display of art and color! Greetings from Portugal!
ReplyDeleteThanks Belinha - nice to meet you!
Deletewow, love love love this post full of autumn colours which are my favourites and most adorable journal .xxx
ReplyDeleteWow, so much beauty today! Your autumnal tag is gorgeous as are all those amazing photos 😀. Your albums and pages look stunning too, I love all the different designs and techniques that you used to create them - fabulous. We have had a mixture of sunshiny and rainy days this week. Happy Friday and weekend! Hugs, Jo x
ReplyDeleteYour tag with the birds reminds me of the picture you took of the pigeons in the tree branches. Your albums and the pages you showed are amazing. The Fall pictures you took are just beautiful. You must be happy the temps. have dropped from the record setting heat you had. Enjoy the weekend 😊
ReplyDeleteThanks! Yes, I am happy that the temps have dropped, and will gladly send the heat in your direction!
DeleteWow, you sure have made a lot of journals, lady! And I'd be very hard-pressed to pick a favorite. They're all beautiful. However, I'll quibble with the description of Sagittarians. I'm lots of things, but I'm NOT tactless. (HMMMPH!)Hmmm, than again, by saying as much, maybe I AM! HA!
ReplyDeleteIt's good to see the colors of autumn are starting to show themselves there. No signs of it here yet. Yesterday, it was a "brisk" 94 degrees...
Have a super weekend! May all of those possibilities for your days be good ones.
As a Sagitarian myself I would say tactless is definitely a part of my make up!
DeleteHello again! Just got back to read some more of your blog. Loved the journals!I see you live in German - we are almost neighbours, ahaahha! - and that you were a teacher. My sister is also a teacher. :) I haven't read many books from King and horror movies aren't a favorite. But this one book I wrote about, about his life and writing method, was very enjoyable!
ReplyDeleteI had a time where I just loved reading those books, getting almost scared to death. But I can't watch the films, they make me much too scared!
DeleteI love your 3D artwork, Valerie. You are a busy lady!
ReplyDeleteOh wow...such beautiful art works...and colorful snaps! Loved the them totally!
ReplyDelete:) I added Google Translator to the blog! I hope it helps. How did I never think about that? Most visitors come from other countries rather than Portugal, I don't know how they manage the language and I don't have much photos in it. Just a word about those small posts with a bird photo. It's a writing challenge. Every week we get a prompt. 400 words. It's not about the bird! The blog that started it's called Challenge of the birds and that's why I pick a bird everytime I write!
ReplyDeleteThanks Belinha, much appreciated!
DeleteLovely photo of you Valerie, and so much beautiful art! That's a wonderful collection of art journals.
ReplyDeleteAlison xx
So many albums! I appreciate the variety, and each one such a treasure.
ReplyDeleteWe're not getting color like yours yet, so I'll enjoy your preview of Autumn while I wait :)
Your beautiful collection of journals is magnificent, so magical and full of creation! I loved all of your art, inspiring. Lovely picture of you!! And thank you for the autumnal visual journey...amazing.
ReplyDeleteLovely to visit your enchanting world again
Victoria
You have made so many beautiful journals. It is wonderful to see autumn coming to your area.
ReplyDeleteI had written this long comment, then apparently my internet went down and I lost it and had to reboot. It took forever to get back online because for some reason, my internet didn't want to recognize my computer.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE your tag. I was surprised because I also have that MS bird punch and have forgotten all about it. Must get it out and use it. Thanks for the reminder. I really LOVE this tag and the message behind it. I can't believe how our "leaders" can so easily ignore science.
Autumn may be showing up in your world, but it isn't here. I'm also one of those whose temperatures are in the mid 90s F this week. It's also very humid. Your area is far prettier and more autumn-like than mine.
I remember seeing a few of your journals in the past, but many I have not seen. They are really beautiful all grouped together. I especially like the Frida house, the heart, and the colorful one with the circles and squares. Beautiful all, though.
A great post, it was good to see the lovely photos and the fabulous collection of your journals. I count myself lucky that I have been gifted one of your treasures.
ReplyDeleteSorry this is a short reply, blogger cut me out on my first efforts.
Yvonne xx
Blogger seems to be having problems again!
DeleteFantástico!!El trabajo de art Journal es impresionante y las imágenes otoñales me gustan sus colores.
ReplyDeleteBESOS
Your journals are absolutely beautiful. I am in total awe of every single one -- the way you create them, the beautiful pages within. I am overwhelmed and have gone over each photo again and again. Stunning.
ReplyDeleteYou have more fall color than we do. I love the season (not what's after or the shorter days, though!)
Your tag is wonderful Valerie, although I love Summer I do think that Autumn has the nicest colours. Your journals are fabulous, I love the bold colours on your Frida one, and your album is just brilliant! Take care, Sue xx
ReplyDeleteLove all of your journals, and Love, Love, Love all of your photographs.
ReplyDeleteAutumn is looking good in your part of the world :)
All the best Jan
