A Tag Book and a giveaway

Hi Everybody!

Hope your day is going well. It's nearly weekend for all you working folks, so have a good one. As a pensioner I have weekend all year round, but I still look forward to the 'real' one - old habits die hard!

Today I am sharing a book made from one of the pieces I painted at Art Group. This is a long post even by my standards!
After painting the squares onto an A3 sheet with acrylics I outlined them with a black Edding and added some napkin transfers. Then I gave it a coat of clear varnish to seal it:

Here I have folded the part for the spine and sewed around it:

It wasn't standing straight here so I flattened it under some heavy tomes for a couple of weeks:

I added large eyelets to the spine using a hammer, this time without damaging myself:

I made 2 signatures and sewed them in:

Then I filled the book with tags:

Some are recent, some older, all needed a home:

I am giving this book of tags away, so if you would like a chance to win it, please say so in your comment. I will send anywhere in the world! I will announce the winner next Wednesday.

I am linking to Paint Party Friday

And a few photos from a recent visit to Südpark. There are a lot more but I need to sort them:

I always love to watch the goats:

Have a great weekend, take care,
and thanks a lot for coming by!

    2. I am so sorry. I don't know what's happened. I downloaded an extension from Chrome which enables me to click on blogs with right-click locked. I just don't know why my right-click is locked!

  9. Your latest handmade book to hold your tags is wonderful. The cover now looks like oil cloth, it's so shiny. I love the design, too. Reminds of a Mondrian. I should make something similar since I plan to make a few tags in the future and I have a ton of them I've never found a place for.

LOVE the ducks and the sheep. Beautiful photos. Speaking of photos, I saw Annie's comment, so I randomly right clicked on the duck. I can't get it to copy, either. Not that I want to, but it's definitely not copyable.

  13. What a wonderful book and I'm so glad you came to no harm setting the eyelets. As to the tags, you had me at Cats. Wonderful close ups of the flowers and animals you meet on your walks. The duck in your banner going for a walk made me smile. I wonder what he'd photograph. Enjoy your weekend.

  14. A beautiful book of tags Valerie!! Great idea to add a coat of varnish to the book covers! My tags are mostly in a plastic bin . I occasionally use them on cards or in a journal. How adorable are those goats...:) Wonderful out and about photos! Happy PPF!

  15. Wow, your book is beautiful. It was very interesting to see how you made the cover, and the tags, of course, are all terrific. I'd really love to own that treasure, but I'd better not ask to have my name thrown into the hat. Our house is FULL, and I'm desperately trying to weed some of it out while I'm still able.

Take care, and have a super weekend.
