It's weekend - enjoy!
For Elizabeth's summertime love theme at Art Journal Journey I found
one more page in my folder - I thought I had shown them all
already. The mermaid is trying to photo-bomb the lady on
the yacht and get in on her selfie.
Images used are from Serif and Mischief Circus.
For Wilma's cake theme at Tag Tuesday I have another
coffee and cake tag. I have visitors coming this weekend
so will be baking a chocolate cream cake, yummy!
Yesterday I was out rather early for my walk, before the sun got too hot.
I love this time of day when not too many people are
about. The stream is looking rather murky after the recent storms:
I enjoy the beautiful gardens on my way down to the Rhine:
The butterfly bush is growing by the road:
The fields and willows are lush and green:
The tourist buses were parked at a cool spot:
The farmers were busy trying to bring in the hay before
it rains or storms again:
It was beautiful by the Rhine:
The succulents are growing in the walls of the castle ruins:
A few other early risers enjoying the peace and quiet:

Hi Val! Just sitting having breakfast on the balcony - the kids are still sleeping, and P is out - heavenly! ReplyDeleteThe photographs are a great collection of the things you see on your walk. The stand out pics for me today must be the thistles and especially the amazing close up of one of them. Hope the hay dries out for the farmers. We have rain again today and I think it rained a lot in the night by the looks of things.

The photos are beautiful today. Looks like not only were the people getting an early view of the Rhine, but the boats were getting an early start. I know you say there are 100s of boats a day on the Rhine, but I don't think I've ever seen that many at once in one of your photos.

Yes, a lot of rain must have stirred up your stream... it will settle and you can enjoy it once more. I love those pretty shades of purple in the flowers you have photographed, so cheerful and summery! It's a lovely walk you're sharing, those purple thistles add a lovely feel. Isn't it so nice to amble along and watch the ordinary happenings. Those sweet little succulents growing in the cracks of the rocks, we call 'jelly beans' here - they look like a sweet (lolly).
Oh, and such relaxing water views, so charming.

After a day sailing on the river and listening to the siren song of the mermaids, a delicious slice of cake would be welcome. Chocolate or hazelnut makes no difference to me. My fork is ready. I enjoy looking at the pictures from your walk. The river looks so calm and cool. Enjoy your weekend.
