Hi Everybody!
Enjoy your weekend! It's stopped raining here, so hope to be able to
walk a but more today, although the rain was really necessary.
I recently re-painted a 4" canvas using left over blue and turquoise
paints from another project. I gave it a final coat of hologram
paint, a transparent paint with tiny pieces of hologram foil in
it, and it makes a wonderful sparkle. I added a large temple leaf
from Prima, also painted with the same paint, and a large textile
flower from Prima. They were both on an old project which
I dismantled. The wings were molded, painted with gesso and
the same sparkly paint, and I added 2 feathers.
'Feathers appear when angels are near'
I am linking to Simon Monday Challenge, distress it
and Eclectic Ellapu, summer colours
For Art Journal Journey, Elizabeth's theme of summertime love,
I made a digital piece, using a rose painting
I made some time back on a blue, painted and distressed background
And some more photos from the botanical gardens:
It was interesting to see that the wild geese always surrounded
the young geese to keep them safe when we appeared:
More photos to follow!
Have a great day you all, take care,
and thanks a lot for coming by!
Hi Val, good morning! I'm up early again, the kids are all excited for some reason! Love the pretty canvas, gorgeous colours too, and the journal page with the roses is magnificent. The photos from the botanical gardens are lovely, it really is a beautiful place. Enjoy your day and see you soon! Hugs, Sarah

Wonderful everything in your post today Valerie
ReplyDeleteThe little canvas is so beautiful and your hand made wings look gorgeous in pink. Great to see the feather and also see some in your photographs as well.
The summer page is stunning with the effects on the roses giving it all a dreamlike quality.
Such an amazing place you visited with the fantastic wild look of the flowers and the amazing geese photographs. I have never seen geese with babies and it is good to know that they protect them so well
Have a great day
We have rain forecast today but it seems to be forecast every day then not much arrives at all.
Love Chrissie xx
Oh my goodness what a fabulous post. Love your canvas and the feathers. Just stunning.
ReplyDeleteThe little duckies look just like the ones I saw whilst walking around our local duck pond today....on such a glorious day and after our rain the pond was sparkling clean for the ducks. Hope you continue to enjoy your weekend.xx [aNNie]
I've never heard of hologram paint, but I love the canvas and the shimmer you got. It's truly lovely. I really like how the wings compliment the feathers. The composition of this canvas is brilliant.
ReplyDeleteI absolutely adore the Art Journal Journey entry. I agree about the roses and their thorns. I've been scratched several times just removing the dead flowers. It's a great quote.
Gotta love those beautiful flowers. I'm so impressed by the many varieties you found. Ironic that our geese are so tame, they don't feel threatened at all around our neighborhood. In fact, I've seen cars that had to stop because they were lying in the road. It'd odd these geese felt threatened.
Thanks for sharing your lovely journal page with us at Art Journal Journey today, dear. And thanks for sharing these awesome photos of the botanical gardens, too.
Beautiful art and photos ! Amazing! Happy weeend!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous canvas, the colours and details are so pretty! :-)

Your art is lovely as always but what really grabs me in this post are the magnificent colors and textures of the flora and fauna at the gardens. What a gorgeous spot.
ReplyDeleteA gorgeous mini canvas Valerie and super photos, I really like the one of the feathers. We've had a lot of rain too and it's much cooler today. Enjoy the rest of the weekend. Xx
ReplyDeleteThe little canvas is so beautiful ♥♥♥♥ Love your summer journal page also. All of the photos from the gardens are so pretty !! If it weren't so flipping hot here I'd go to visit ours. Thant will have to wait for a cooler day.
