LoTs of Ts and more for Tuesday

Hi Everybody!

Here's wishing all friends on the other side of the Big Pond
a very happy and safe July 4th!

I am linking to digitally made - summer fun/patriotic
and to Simon Monday Challenge, red, white & blue

At TIOT we are stating a new theme on Tuesday -
TAGS.
As always, projects of all formats are allowed,
and you have 2 weeks to join us.
As I am once again in a Klimt and gold phase, I made 2 more
Klimt tags, showing more of his wonderful paintings.
I used lots of gold leafing and metallic paper scraps over (Vivacolor)
gold paint. I sewed the tags onto a recycled card background
and then fixed them with DS tape to kraft bags. The tag ties were
made from fibres and home rolled paper beads. The bags
were meant for some gold anniversary gifts for some friends.

I am also linking to altered eclectics, anything goes.

And you still have a week to join in our beach themed
tag challenge at Tag Tuesday.

At Rhedd's creative Spirit I won the challenge last month with
my 'vintage' door-hanger, so that was a nice surprise!

Tuesday is of course also time for Elizabeth's
T stands for Tuesday party,
so here a warm welcome to all of the nice ladies of
the T Gang.

Last week when I went to Zons with Sabine, we had lunch at the
'Torschenke', an ancient pub/restaurant in the gate area.
We sat outside on the terrace and enjoyed a wonderful meal after
perusing these huge menu cards, made with wooden covers
and metal hinges - they even squeaked when they were
opened! I chose a baked potato with sour cream, salad and smoked
salmon, and washed it down with a coke - and I was so hungry
I forgot to take a photo!
Sorry, but there are more food and drink photos
 in this post!

Inside the restaurant:

You can see more menus on the left of the sideboard:

We drank the coffee later at an ice parlour next door, which was
in a beautiful back yard, where you could enjoy the views over the walls
to the Rhine:

And Sabine had this 'small' plate of waffles with ice-cream, cream,
strawberries and rhubarb. Try it, there's plenty there:

I wandered round the yard and took photos of all the things they have
lovingly collected and placed there:

Sabine looks very happy and contented:

Before we drove home we had some mineral water,
which was served in these pretty, blue-glass bottles:

I will show more photos tomorrow from our walk through
the town and around the ancient walls.
I found this video of Zons on YouTube:

Have a great day you all, take care,
and thanks a lot for coming by!

  5. Wow Valerie, this was a wonderful post to read. As always your art looks awesome,
I loved Klimt tags and gift bags, the added gold makes they look rich and I think they would have been very expensive if they had been for sale in a shop.
Its a great journal page as well.
Your food sounded delicious and the photos looked great. I can see why you took the photos of the delightful and interesting items you saw in the yard.
    Happy T day wishes .

  7. I love your Klimt and gold tags, Valerie. I was confused about the new challenge until I saw how you attached your tags to kraft bags. So, projects of all formats are still allowed. This one will require a lot of thought on my part.

Congratulations on winning Rhedd's Challenge! Your door hanger is awesome. The win is well-deserved. What a fun outing you had with Sabine (lovely name and it suits her - that's a lovely photo of her at bottom). Both restaurants look excellent.

It was so sweet of you to remember our national holiday ;-) Thank you.

    Happy T-Day! Hugs, Eileen

  8. What a fun, warm, and enjoyable post today. I love the tags. wish I had known you were choosing tags for TioT. I might have saved my patriotism tag. Yours a both beautiful, as are the bags you created. I can tell Klimt inspires you, too.

Looks like you and Sabine had a wonderful time, including the meal at Torschenke. The atmosphere was wonderful and it looks like it would be a great place to eat. Of course your cappuccino looked wonderful as did Sabine's ice cream and waffle.

I really enjoyed the photos from the ice parlor and the surrounding area. You got some lovely shots.

Thank you for sharing your lovely TioT tags, your other art, and your walk around Zons as you shared your lovely photos and cappuccino with us for T this Tuesday.

(I had never appreciated just how much texture and shine his art had until we visited Vienna a few years ago) I love the place you visited for coffee and waffles! The sleeping knight caught my eye and even the little frogs made me smile! Happy T Day, Hugs, Chrisx

  21. Your Klimt tags are gorgeous and how clever to use them on a gift bag. The restaurant looked quaint and cozy. What a fun and different menu. Sabine's strawberry dessert looks out of this world. I especially loved the garden as it reminds me of my Zensical garden though on a much larger scale. The little gargoyle picking his nose really made me laugh. I'll be on the lookout to see if I can find one for my garden. Have a wonderfuly day!

  23. This is a very full post Valerie. First of all I love your patriotic piece. Those Klimt tags are amazing. I seem to have let the last TIOT slide right by me as I lost track of time. :( I love the gold leaf you added to them. And Zons is such a pretty place. What a cool menu. Your meal sounds delicious, and that dessert. Oh my. I could have that right now for breakfast minus the ice cream. Glad you had such an exciting day out. Happy T day. Hugs-Erika

  35. Sorry I am so late it getting around !!! Things have been a bit super busy here this week. During all of the 4th celebrations a senior dog showed up in our yard all frightened by the fireworks going on everywhere. They are legal for private citizens here and being in the country everyone tries to out do the other. Which means it's also the biggest day of the year for dogs to get frighten and escape. She was shaking like a leaf and could barely walk any longer. We still have her as I can not find her owners and fear if we turn over to authorities they will just put her down because of her age and weakness. So we may have acquired a new dog :-/ Your art for the 4th was amazing and those Klimt tags are fantastic!!!! The bags will be perfect for small gifts ♥ The garden art at the restaurant is beautiful ♥ I want more garden art at my place but it is so pricey that I just may have to start creating my own :) Hope the rest of your week is great!
