Hi Everybody!
Time is flying, it's the middle of the week already.
I have more tags to share today. The first mixed media tag
is for Go Tag Thursday, in the garden. I used a paper
napkin on an 8" manila tag. I added Stickles and tiny gemstones
to the feathers, and rubbed some iridescent wax over the top half
to make Mr Peacock shine. I stitched the tag to a
green backing, and added a flower and some leaves:
For Wilma's cake theme at Tag Tuesday I have a digital
tag today - a nice cup of coffee and some strawberry cream
cake, yummy! Hope to see YOU joining us with cake there!
Last Friday I visited the botanical garden with Gunter. It is part of
the Heinrich-Heine-University. This is the huge, glass-domed
tropical house. Strangely enough, as it was so hot outside, it felt
pleasantly cool inside! The garden round about the dome is filled with
tropical plants, including palm trees - my first opportunity to
be under palms this year. The garden has sections for flowers,
veggies, medicinal plants and herb, rare flowers and trees as
well as those 'normal' to our habitat:
More photos to follow!
Have a great day, take care,
and thanks a lot for coming by!
Hi Valerie, Your tags are incredible. I love the peacock and the pretty details. The coffee and cake tag is a delight. You do such incredible art work my friend. Lovely photos from the botanical gardens. Really beautiful! Have a nice week. xo
ReplyDeleteI LOVE your post again today, so much to see, so many lovely photos to enjoy. I must confess I was never in that garden although I lived there for so long, shame on me! Your tags are both gorgeous, love the peacock, and I would really like a slice of that lovely cake just now....Have a nice evening, hugs, Sarah

A peacock in the garden was my dream as a kid!
DeleteThe peacock looks stunning, love the added sheen to him, and a wonderful cake tag and I agree - coffee and cake the perfect make.
ReplyDeletePictures of the botanical garden look similar to a place in Cornwall called the Eden Project that we visited a few years ago, full of interesting plants.

Your tags today are stunning! Enjoyed the botanical garden photos, it is pretty tropical outside right now too!
ReplyDeleteBoth of your tags are gorgeous!! I love the richness of the peacock tag and the beautiful bright colors of the cake and coffee tag! (I just had a cup of coffee, but alas, no cake).
ReplyDeleteThe botanical Garden look amazing! Clearly some inspiration for your tags (I'm guessing that coffee appeared at some time on your visit!) and the colours on your peacock tag are so beautiful! Hugs, Chrisx
ReplyDeleteWow, the Tag for our challenge at Go Tag Thursday is stunning, the colours are gorgeous...
ReplyDeleteLoving all the "garden " photos too Valarie...Thank you for sharing them on your blog..x
Beautiful photos and beautiful tags - thank you Valerie.
ReplyDeleteVibrant and beautiful post, the picture of the flowers are just gorgeous and I love seeing them.xx
ReplyDeleteI have no idea how I missed this post. The peacock tag is simply stunning, and I mean STUNNING. I'd eat cake with you, but right now, all I have room for is coffee. That's a really different tag for you, but I like it.
ReplyDeleteI AM impressed with the photos of the palm trees. I have a "thing" for palm trees, but they would never survive a winter in my climate. And the plant in the brown pot. Is that an aloe vera? If so, I've never seen one on a stalk like that before. Mine shoots up directly out of the ground.
Hope you are having a great day. I've got dishes to wash, but everything else is cleaned up. Then it will be time to finish tomorrow's art.
It looks like an aloe, but I'm not a plant expert. It was just huge, all the plants were, and not comparable with my puny balcony pot plants. It was a lovely place to be, and I will go again.
DeleteHi Valerie! Wow! I love the 2 tags that you made - both are simply gorgeous! And wow! Thanks so much for sharing the awesome photos that you took at the botanical garden! I loved going through all of your photos - so cool!
ReplyDeleteYour tags are amazing Valerie (I LOVE Mr. Peacock all blinged out-I think peacocks would if they could add a bit of sparkle) but the garden photos are spectacular. Wow. I was just thinking this morning while walking (best place to think) that I never shared my botanical garden photos from Canada when we went last month. I guess you were thinking the same thing. The dome is really wild too. I love all the tropical plants. :) Thanks for sharing. Hugs-Erika
ReplyDeleteYou're right, peacocks would really enjoy a bit of bling
DeleteOoh, I love botanical gardens. You always find the best places to visit.
ReplyDeleteMr. Peacock is glorious and the strawberry cake and coffee is making me hungry:)
