Hi Everybody!
Time disappeared in the wink of an eye today, and
once again I don't really know what happened to it!
Anyway, it's well and truly weekend, so let's all have
good one!
For Tag Tuesday, Chrissie's lovely theme of
'my favourite colour combination' I have another tag,
which also fits very well to the cats theme at
I m also linking to Simon Monday Challenge,
you've got the edge.
I wear a lot of grey and black, and I love to combine
it with a touch of pink, as here in my tag.
I layered recycled pink and black recycled cardstock
and sewed the layers together - saves glue!
The head was a fussy cut Halloween cat, and the eyes
got a coat of glossy accents. After sewing on the head,
I cut a piece of black lace for the body, gathered it at the top
before sewing it down, and then sewed along the sides,
leaving a little slit to push in the fibre tail later on.
I sewed on her pink bow and closed the slit after
placing the tail.
Then Kitty got stuffed and sewed up so no filling
can escape. I hand wrote the sentiment and it
was finished - a pin-cushion cat tag:
I made this digital piece just for fun, as I was enjoying playing
around with some new images from Mischief Circus:
We had mixed weather today:
I have enjoyed seeing the plowed fields this week:
Family duck has a huge family to care for, and were very happy
to get a bag of salad and bread:
Oh my, it's bad enough trying to keep an eye on one or 2 kids....
Have a great day, take care
and thanks a lot for coming by!
The tag is just UNIQUE ! Super - Thank you for joining Moo Mania & More with it and the digital piece is great as well- love the duck family!
ReplyDeleteHappy weekend!
Your tag is so funny, Val, I LOVE it, and little R is saying, 'Wannit, wannit!' What a fantastic idea. Love the digital page, too, very mysterious. Those ducklings are sweet. I think I would have left home if I had had so many kids all at once! Have a fun evening, take care and get some rest. Hugs, Sarah
ReplyDeleteawww wonderful sewed cat, love it. and the digital woman is great to
ReplyDeleteLoving all your colour combinations for this challenge! Fun digital piece and enjoyed your photos today!
ReplyDeleteFun kitty tag. She looks very elegant. Great colors on the digital piece, too. The ducklings are so cute. Mama Duck has it easy because everyone gets in line when she needs the group to move out. Enjoy your evening.
ReplyDeleteTerrific tag Valerie and I am lost for words that you made a tag with a useful purpose. Just wonderful.
ReplyDeleteLove the just for fun page with the wonderful quote and amazing colours.
Now to the photographs they are all super but the best of all are the cute ducklings with their proud mum.
Sleep well and have a nice day tomorrow-we are hoping to go to York if the weather forecast is ok
Love Chrissie xx
Those fields are so beautiful. And look at those adorable ducks! Love ém -- and your tag, too! Sometimes when I see her from behind Lizzie looks like a little rump roast -- but NEVER fat!
ReplyDeleteValerie, I LOVE the textiles and sewing you've incorporated into your art lately. This cat especially is SO GREAT!
ReplyDeleteThanks, I had fun making something "silly"
DeleteBrilliant fabric piece and wonderful digi creation! Happy weekend!
ReplyDeleteWhat a super cute tag!! Love the recycling involved and the fact that it's useful too!
ReplyDeleteIts a fantastic tag idea Valerie to make the cat in to a pincushion, it looks wonderful.
ReplyDeleteYour just for fun page looked awesome as well, the background looks so atmospheric with the super layering of images.
I loved the photos, especially those ducklings, poor mum she must be pleased when they sleep.
Yvonne xx
Ein sehr schönes Tag, Valerie, die Fotos wie immer super
ReplyDeleteVielen Dank für's Mitmachen bei MOO MANIA & MORE
I know I'm late getting here. Bleubeard can't type, so he had to wait till I got home to visit you.
ReplyDeleteYour cat is adorable. Bleubeard gives it two paws up, but Squiggles was offended because I've called him fatso before. He does get fat if I give him too much food. I can tell your lovely cat doesn't have that problem, though.
Your digital entry, although dark and moody, contrasted nicely with the cat tag.
Loved the duck photos. They are adorable. Looks like the hay has almost been baled now, too.
I started the day by mowing early. Took me over three hours, but I finally got it done. Didn't have time to edge because Scott came by to look at my e-mail again (which quit working after we had the power outage a few days ago). He couldn't help me, so went home to use his computer to figure it out.
Then it was off to Sally's and we had lunch. I needed to buy a bulb for my sewing machine and I picked up a foot to use for free motion work. Then it was off to my friend J's where we went to a very loud concert. Now you know why I'm so late visiting today. Hope your Saturday is fabulous. I'm off to bed soon.
If you were to teach Bleubeard to type he could take over some of the more onerous duties....
DeleteI love your tag. The use of different materials for texture and the whole design is awesome. The tail is awesome! Thanks for joining us on the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge.
ReplyDeleteCathie ♥

I love your mixed media cat with her plump lacy tummy - adorable! And wonderful spooky scenes too. But I'm afraid it's the ducklings who have stolen centre stage in today's post... so, so sweet! Thanks for sharing your photos.

What cute little ducklings. Don't let the skinny cat near them or she will be fat. That is one COOL tag. I really like everything you used to make the piece. Very very clever. Happy weekend. Hugs-Erika
ReplyDeleteThese pieces are great! The pincushion is such a fun idea and I love the black winged young lady.
ReplyDeletePoor Mama Duck, she could probably use a little sippy cup of wine by evening's end.
Enjoy the rest of your weekend, my friend.
Hugs,
I love the kitty and your digital piece is wonderful. The ducklings are so cute too!
Hugs
Sabine
Oh I do love this cat! Your digital piece is so full of atmosphere and mystery too! Her head dress is fascinating! Lovely to see the fields! How lovely those ducklings look - we haven't seen any ducklings this year with the pair of ducks around the caravan site - they either didn't have any or something ate them! Hugs, Chrisx
ReplyDeleteWas für eine klasse Kreation.
ReplyDeleteOmgoodness your tag is just too sweet Valerie! How clever you are making this with the lace stuffed belly!
