Hi Everybody!
It's Friday already! This has been a busy week with lots
of appointments, so I'm looking forward to some
rest over the weekend.
For Go Tag Thursday, in the garden, for Mixed Media Monthly,
altered embellishments and Stamps and stencils I made a large Mixed Media tag.
The substrate is recycled mdf from the back of an old
drawer. It was grounded with
gesso and then painted with Titan Buff. I added some
stenciling using clear paste. The edges were distressed with
oxide inks ancient linen and wild honey. The Paris image is
a paper napkin. The Rose was made with plaster
of Paris in a silicone biscuit mold from the Euro shop,
as was the wing. They were both painted and distressed with DIs
and then given a coat of crackle glaze. The feathers, leaves
lace and small rose are all from my stash. I spritzed it all
with some white acrylic paint to finish it off.

For Paint Party Friday, and Simon Monday Challenge
red, white and/or blue
I have an A3 mixed media journal page, made using acrylic
sprays on a gessoed BG with Dina Wakley stencils. I collaged
them onto the page to make a positive/negative effect:
And I have the penultimate installment of photos from Zons:
The shops were mostly selling 'quaint' stuff:
But I did like these frogs, and the stone sculpture with the fossils:
Medieval street art!
I loved the rugged bricks and stones in the walls:
Lots of plants and grasses were growing there:
And the arches made a good place for the garbage bins -
brown is for things which can be composted, yellow for plastic and tin,
and green for paper and cardboard:
Have a great weekend you all, take care,
and thanks a lot for coming by!
Your tag is incredible. I love romantic pieces and this is feminine and romantic. It is also very Parisian. I simply adore it.
ReplyDeleteThe journal page is quite nice, too. You have definitely put those stencils to good use. The colors are so warm and inviting.
I've really enjoyed photos of Zons through your eyes. It's a great place and I was impressed with the architecture more than the kitsch. I also loved the flowers and flower boxes. I will be sad once you complete your trip to Zons. It was fun to see and learn about this town.
Love everything about today's post, that tag is really gorgeous. Wonderful journal page, too, red, white and blue are always my fave colours. Great photos of Zons, where will you be visiting next? The wall there are very impressive. Have a nice day, take it easy, hugs, Sarah
ReplyDeleteTres Chic! What a lovely tag and a wonderful stroll through Zons. Thank you for linking to Rhedd's Creative Spirit Challenge this month.
ReplyDeletegreat post today, love the pictures and all, and the dina wakely iam a fan ;O))
ReplyDeleteA really terrific post today with the wonderful tag and the great idea of using a biscuit mold to make a flower-now why didn't I think of that? Love the floaty page with beautiful muted colours.
ReplyDeleteZons, or your photographs of it, is still throwing up more wonders and ideas. How I would love to go and do some painting on the many awful structures for telephones and electricity that seem to spring up daily around our area. I could start with our three bins I reckon.
More amazing walls and I do love brick walls and the wonderful shop with the terrific makes outside and inside.
Have a great day
Love Chrissie xx
