Gift bags

Hi Everybody!

It's weekend, enjoy!
We got through the storms here without too much damage,
some places it was really bad, but this time we were lucky here,
for which I am very thankful.

A couple of weeks back I went to IKEA with a friend. I didn't need
to buy any furniture, but I found some pretty, curly bamboo plants
and some craft paper bags, one packet with stripes and one with spots.
I decided to alter them a bit to make them into gift bags. I added rose rub ons to these 2, and then did some stamping and stenciling with archival black.

I collaged  paper napkins to these 2.

I added some more splodges of white, and doodled round the spots before
adding the sentiment:

On this one I added more splodges and then stenciled some black spots.
This was a a quick and easy way to make some pretty gift bags,
which will be useful for cookies or tags or whatever I put in them.

I am linking to Paint Party Friday

Some more impressions from my walks:

Have a great weekend, take care,
and thanks a lot for coming by!

  1. Wow, oh WOW. Those gift bags are amazing. I really like them all. It's amazing how you added such incredible beauty to them. They are beautiful, and I know they will come in handy when you need them. It's good to have these things as needed.

I adore the photos down by the Rhine and the flowers. The birds always make me smile, too. I'm thrilled the storms passed over you. I was really worried about you. Glad you were safe and sound.

    1. The sculpture is on the roof of one of the houses by the Rhine, and moves with the wind, so always looks different, I love it.

  13. I think IKEA is a great place to find things for art. Those bags became gorgeous gift bags. You were really clever to change them up. And in one of your photos it looks like the hydrangea flowers are red. How cool is that. I've never seen reddish ones, just pink, white, blue and purplely. Happy Friday, and hope you have a great start to your weekend. Hugs-Erika

  31. First of all, I love the idea of making the gift bags. The substrate is terrific -- I need to go to IKEA and wonder if they have these in our US stores. And I love how you brightened them up with the floral motif. Very fun and pretty and very, very happy. (And so are those hydrangeas!)
