Hi Everybody!
Today we are beginning a new challenge at
is our wonderful, super-talented host this month,
and has chosen
COLLAGE
as her theme. But there is a twist to it -
no faces, no wings and no leaves!
We hope you will join in the fun and link your work to us at
AJJ. You have 4 weeks, as always.
I made a mixed media collage and added the frame and text on his hat digitally.
Today is also Elizabeth's T stands for Tuesday, so I would
like to welcome all of the T Gang, and of course, anybody else who drops in.
Last week I visited 2 art museums in Düsseldorf, and had a fab time viewing
the wonderful art, for example Picasso:
Henri Matisse:
And a collage from Kurt Schwitters:
The café in the museum is also a wonderful place to spend an hour, so sit down with me and enjoy a cappuccino - or tea:
I still have more photos to show, but they will keep for another time.
Have a great day, take care,
and thanks a lot for coming by!
I'm in LOVE. In love with that assemblage by Kurt Schwitters, that is. I wish I could make something that balanced and artistic. And to think it all came from cast offs.
ReplyDeleteNot sure about Susi's challenge, but I'll give it a try one of these days. It sounds complicated. It means I'll have to put on my thinking cap.
LOVED the cafe and the photos you shared along with your cappuccino. I was impressed that the lady who sat in front of you left her purse on a table next to hers. You wouldn't find that in the states. Seems we are less trusting and less trustworthy. Says something for who we are as a nation.
Thanks for sharing your AJJ entry, the wonderful art, and your cappuccino with us for T this Tuesday.
Another wonderful post from start to finish. Your art is great and fun at the same time, and thanks for sharing the photos from the art museum. Glad you have been getting out more! Hugs Sarah
ReplyDeleteThat is a superb collage, love all the writing and words and the great background texture.
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful theme, first collage, then the "twist".
I enjoyed the trip through the museum, wondrous art to inspire. Museum cafes are often wonderful too and pretty essential.
super marvelous art to begin the new theme at AJJ!!!
ReplyDeleteLove the museum art-so varied and just fascinating to study isn't it?
Great cafe surroundings to take it all in along with a good cappuccino. Happy T day!
Lovely new theme for the month, I like what you did with the first page! Thanks for sharing this wonderful priceless artwork from the masters, how lucky you are to be so close to these museums! Your cappucino looks delicious!
ReplyDeleteGreat new AJJ theme and I love the piece you made today. The colors are fantastic! I also like that Tim Holtz stamp set. And no face. :) You certainly saw some wonderful Picasso and Matisse art last week. You have some wonderful museums near you. And of course you can have your cappuccino. :) Happy T day. Hugs-Erika

ReplyDeleteGorgeous art today for AJJ. The texture is amazing. Museums are special places.Love those paintings!both.Happy T-Day and have a magical week,
ReplyDeleteI love your collage. Reminds me of Magrite.
ReplyDeleteThe exhibition is fab. You saw so many Picassos. It is amazing how that wonderful art was created in the early 20th century!
But the cafe takes the biscuit! Those 'people in animated suspension'lamps are so unusual. I really like them and the furniture in different heights. Fab! Of course the cappuccino looks delish as always. I wish they would do cappuccino here.... I'd have one every day!
Happy T-Day and have a good week,
Lisca

ReplyDeleteTrips to an art museum is a rare thing for me.....since I am the only one that truly enjoys them..in my family. So I always enjoy visiting my blog friends and going with them. I even enjoy Picasso. Thanks for sharing your trip to the museum.

I thoroughly enjoyed the museum trip. I get a kick out of different types and styles of art, and I love the growing practice of coffee shops/cafes in museums. Happy T Tuesday!

ReplyDeleteI like the burlap or burlap look in your piece. Good job!
Hugs
I love your page for AJJ. Nicely worked round.
ReplyDeleteLOVE your collage. I could look at it for hours, just breaking down all the detail and components. Super awesome. I wish I could play along, but the only art I have to offer up are the memes or images I grab off the interwebs to modify into funnies or the like.
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful collage you have created - the background texture, colours and the silhoutte are perfect! I love the collage from Kurt Schwitters too :-0. Thanks for sharing your beautiful photos with us this Tuesday and wishing you a very Happy T Day! J :-)
ReplyDeleteSounds like an amazing day - and the cappuccino is the perfect cap for the day! Beautiful page too - the love the white collar addition! xo

ReplyDeleteLiebe Grüße, Rike
Wow! Some very remarkable art here. Tons of color. And I put your AJJ piece right up there with it!
ReplyDeleteHappy week!
Sabine
Love your make for AJJ - no faces indeed - you did make me laugh. I am afraid I am not much for modern art --- like I should be a critic or something!!!!
ReplyDeleteI always enjoy your pictures - honestly Valerie, it is the only way I will get to travel.
Sandy xx
Das sind alles in allem grandiose Kunstwerke, Deines natürlich auch. Tja und Deine Fotos bringen mich immer wieder zum Staunen, ganz einfach genial
