Hi Everybody!
Today we are starting a new challenge at
'If Music be the food of love....'
Our hostess for the month is the lovely Hazel.
This theme gives you a wide scope - music, love, things you love and cherish,
or of course, a combination of all of them. Let your imagination run riot, think of something that makes you want to burst into song,
and then link your creations to us.
I have made an A3 mixed media page, pasted with vintage book pages, hand-written texts and some tissue tape, and then washed over with gesso. I drew the face with a permanent marker, and then coloured her with water colours and gelatos. Her ear looks like the dog chewed it, but never mind, I gave her bright and colorful hair to make up for it. I am also linking to 99 faces.
Yesterday morning:
Today - what a difference a day makes!
Hope your day is great, whatever the weather!
Take care, and thanks a lot for coming by!
ein tolles gesicht und das neue thema ist cool, hab auch schon eine seite gemalt.
ReplyDeleteeinen schönen tag dir.
hugs jenny
This theme is open to huge interpretation, which I really like. So glad to see an example of your take on it. This will be a fun month, I think.
ReplyDeleteWhat a difference in days. It's almost like day and night, but at least you can see in front of you. I think your photo of the fog or mist is fantastic, because I know how hard it is to photograph fog.
Love your face with the coloured hair, I know someone who used to do her hair in colours like that. Have fun with the new challenge, hugs, Sarah
ReplyDeleteSie is die personifizierte MUSIK-Muse! Schön gemacht und die Fotos sind klasse... Frau Holle und Petrus: beiden wohl bipolor gestört...lol!

I like your new theme, Valerie - many possibilities. Great page. And yes.. the weather does change quickly these days. Something lovely about your 'misty' photographs. hugs, Donna
ReplyDeleteI LOVE watching the mist!
DeleteLiebe Valerie,
ReplyDeleteeine wundervolle Challenge, die du beschreibst! Dein Bild ist absolut genial, vor allem weil die Details, wie Musiknote im Auge, so toll heraus gearbeitet ist...
Herzliche Grüsse, Sichtwiese
Dog chewed is not such a bad thing, ask me. Ha ha. Nice new theme this month, hope to pop in more. xox
ReplyDeleteWow- what a weather change you have had. This winter has been really strange, as you know. WE're going to be around 50 degrees Fahrenheit most of the week. And I love this new theme at AJJ. Your face today is very sporty- I love how you have been using colors in them. Happy Monday! And happy February! :)
ReplyDeleteA brilliant page Valerie, the face is fabulous, I love the colour of her hair - I remember a great many years ago when I used a black dye on my bleached hair, it went a lovely shade of green, my parents weren't amused. Thank you for letting me host this months challenge, I'm looking forward to seeing the entries.
ReplyDeletexxx Hazel.
I can imagine that! I had red hair, and had green streaks dyed into it, just for fun!
DeleteBeautiful page and a wonderful new challenge, love the artistic photos this morning!
ReplyDeleteLovely page! I'm not sure if a wide open theme is easier or harder for me. Time will tell. :)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful piece Valerie, love that background. What a great misty photo, mist is favourite type of weather! hugs :)
ReplyDeleteThe journal piece is fun!
ReplyDeleteThe photos make me want to join you for a cup of coffee on the balcony and watch the sun come up. Of course, you'd have to nudge me to make sure I wasn't nodding off that early in the morning. grin.
As I imagine music and art are the keys to your heart -- always so beautifully done!

Music art and food, to be exact!
DeleteBright and lovely.... I think she's FUN. The theme for this month is wonderful. Always love seeing creations with a music subject of any kind on them. Such a lovely misty photo too Valerie. Have a happy week. j.
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun face and fun hair. I have had some strange hair colors in my life :) China Red in my late teens early 20's followed by Lavender color and then later in life very Eggplant Purple. Which really glowed almost in the sunlight. Your weather is as changeable as ours has been this winter...so un-winter here right now :)
ReplyDeleteA fantastic theme for February. Music calms the soul and warms the heart and your page today is excellent, even with red and green hair. We had a misty day Sunday but today the sun is shining. Hope tomorrow brings out the sun in your piece of the worldhugs,

Sounds like a good theme with Valentines Day coming up. I like the look of paint over script a lot. Enjoyed the views from home, even the grey one.
ReplyDeleteKlasse deine Musik-Muse und ein toller Auftakt zum neuen Thema bei AJJ.
ReplyDeleteDeine Fotos sind auch wieder sooo schön.
Liebe Grüße
Sabine
Super theme at AJJ, and I do like your lady with the colourful hair. She looks a bit wistful.
ReplyDeleteLove your photo of the foggy morning, is that the view from your balcony again? I quite like waking up to mist and rain as long as I don't have to drive anywhere.
A new great AJJ theme. Your page looks fantastic, loved the hair, she would be noticed wherever she went.

Valerie, Your gal is a real beauty to start off the new challenge! I do not see any evidence of a dog chew on that ear however! maybe her earrings were always too heavy! teehee I really do love her hair! great colors!! xoxo
ReplyDeleteThis month theme at AJJ is fabulous! Love your new painting, a great face as always.
ReplyDeleteHugs, Mar

Lovely, artsy face, Valerie. Hugs, Teresa
ReplyDeleteLove this new theme and what a great piece to start with. She is fabulous Valerie. Did you do some plastic surgery on her? as I see no dog-chewed ear :)

Nice page, Valerie! Thanks for visiting my blog, come again! :-) I hope I get to making a journal page for this month's AJJ, as I've an idea brewing already. Wish me luck! Oh that weather. Stragnely enough, we are having similar here on Texas gulf coast. I never know which it will be these days, cloudy foggy rainy, or sunny windy dry. Consistantly colder here this winter. xoxo, Aimeslee
