Hi Everybody!
Hope you are enjoying your weekend.
For Art Journal Journey, if music be the food of love, I have an A3 mixed media page, meant also for 99 faces. I painted the background with acrylics using my scratchy brush. I copied the face from Modigliani's painting of Madame Kisling, which he painted in Paris in 1917. I love his style, and have already copied a lot of his portraits. For me it is a wonderful way to learn how the artist painted. I used a mix of acrylics, water colours and pastel chalks for the face. When it was dry I cut it out and collaged it onto the background. I added my text and some washi tape.
Thi morning we were treated to another wonderful show:
This one was taken through the kitchen window:
Have a great day you all, take care,
and thanks a lot for coming by!
Liking the colours, very vibrant!
ReplyDeleteFantastic art work, wonderful photos, hugs, Sarah
ReplyDeleteI'm also a fan of Amedeo Modigliani. He had a very distinct style and you captured it beautifully. I like the grid background and how you delineated the face using the washi tape. This is a great and well thought through entry.
ReplyDeleteI want to apologize for the goof I made for AJJ yesterday. I had NOT gone to the AJJ blog when I created my post. I saw art that you, Susi, Yvonne, and Chrissie posted, but never once read what Hazel put on AJJ. In fact, I didn't even read about Hazel until after I had posted my entry. I guess that will teach me to check out each of these challenges before I enter them.
You have given Madame K a wonderful new life in your lovely collage Valerie! Love it.
ReplyDeleteYou have a splendid view of the sunrise...
thank you for sharing it with us ♥

What beautiful skies you are having - ours was clear early this morning with a thin layer of cloud just in the wrong part of the sky where I wanted to look.. duh!
Enjoy your day......... Gill xx
Beautiful skies here, but too much cloud, no chance to spy those planets!
DeleteWhat an enchanting piece of work, Valerie. I'm rather partial to Modigliani's work and you have done a wonderful tribute. Your photos are stunning - the sky is exquisite. The last photo of the bird against the red sky is breathtaking. hugs, Donna

ReplyDeleteI'm not familiar with this art piece so I looked it up. You did a great job with yours.I like how it is Madame Kisling but not his exact Madame Kisling, if that makes any sense. Gorgeous sky photos too. The saying here (and you probably know it) is red sky in morning, sailors take warning. Did you weather turn stormy later? Happy rest of your weekend! :)
