Faces

Hi Everybody!

For Art Journal Journey, winter wonderland, I have a hybrid page using a photo of my wonderful dog Scruffy, taken on holiday in Austria many years ago. She always loved snow!

I have a huge stash of 12x12" papers that I have not used for various reasons, and now I am using them as backgrounds for faces etc. This is face 55 for our challenge 99 faces. I used water colours and acrylics.

I never tire of seeing the guns sunbathing:

The name of this one sounds promising:

Have a great weekend, take care,
and thanks a lot for coming by!

  1. Scruffy was a beauty! Great hybrid page. I like seeing the gulls, too, and would love to be aboard "escape" right about now although it still has not started snowing in our neck of the woods. Now they say tomorrow morning!

  4. Sweet dog! Lovely pieces today, I've never mixed acrylic with watercolour. Hope it warms up soon, sure beats the snow they are having in the US northeast, Toronto has been spared.

  10. Beautiful pages (and dog!), great idea to use 12x12 for backgrounds. I used to use them a lot and now they are sitting lonely. You are lucky to live close to water, enjoy! Happy Weekend, Shirleyxx

  15. We love our dogs and your Scruffy is suredly missed. She would be pleased to see her face on the web. Wonderful winter page as is your FACE creation. The boat named ESCAPE will have a difficult time being unnoticed as she so long! I think she should be renamed FOUND. Have a creative weekend. I enjoyed your photos today.

  16. Ha,ha, I love Scruffy's expression, "can you please stop taking photos, and just let me play!" Your second page is beautiful, I love the angels. The weather has been much nicer here too, amazing what a bit of sunshine does for the soul! xx

  17. Scruffy stole my heart. What an adorable face and great expression. Dogs are SO much more expressive than cats.

Your face is beautiful, and I can understand why you might have been saving that lovely paper. I've come to the conclusion that if I save it, I'm only adding to my growing collection of papers, where if I use it, someone else will get some enjoyment from it.

Thanks for sharing the art AND the great boats today. Laughed at Escape, although it doesn't seem to fit its name.
