Hi Everybody, it's Friday again!
That means it's time for Paint Party Friday and Kim's show Your face, and everyday is the right time for Art Journal Journey, winter wonderland.
I painted an A3 sheet with various blues, white and silver. I drew the face with black ink. I added some shading in blue, and painted her hair, eyebrows and lips with silver metallic from Vivacolor. I added some touches of diamond Stickles on her lashes and hair, and the quote. Then I sprayed some white glimmer mist and let it run down over her face.

Today was sunny/windy/ cold/dry/wet in quick succession. I enjoyed my walk along the Rhine, watching the clouds, birds and ships.
This cloud looks to me like a face with a big nose in profile, looking to the right - can you see it too?
Have a great day you all, take care,
and thanks a lot for coming by!
Gorgeous frozen blue lady Valerie and love those pics too.

Certainly looks a lot brighter on your photographs than it has here for a very long time. Love the ones on the river it always looks like something interesting is happening when you go for a walk. Rain and darkness here again I'm afraid.
ReplyDeleteJust love the page Valerie and the face has such beauty even though her stare seems frosty. How lovely to have the diamond stickles on her eyelashes they really take you straight to the eyes.
Have a great day
Love Chrissie xx
Wow you illustrated that quote so well...the colours and drips were so perfect...it does have an icy feel with so much beauty! Always enjoy your photos and often tell my daughter about them!

OOoooo ... 'The Ice Queen' .. she's great, Valerie. Love the clouds in the one photograph and oh, that red boat. Great shots. hugs, Donna
ReplyDeleteThe boat belongs to the water fire-brigade.
DeleteThe silver metallic and runny white mist give this a wintry glow. And the sentiment is perfect.
ReplyDeleteYou've perfectly achieved that frozen, cold feeling with this piece - those icy colours are great.
ReplyDeleteAll the different paints and inks you used (along with the quote) is amazing how they came together for the end product. It all works together beautifully. Blessings, Janet PPF
ReplyDeleteGorgeous face and quote!
ReplyDeleteGosh Valerie, this face is beautiful. I love the eyelashes and the white dribbles down the face. What a fabulous quote, too. It certainly went well with the blue frozen lady.
ReplyDeleteAs always, I enjoyed the photos from your walk. Of course, I think the boats on the river are my favorite, because there is nothing like that in my world.
she is so beautiful Valerie! Wonderful quote, and I love the touch of shimmer. It always brightens my day too to see the photos of your walks.
ReplyDeleteI really like the stark feel and her very striking looks. The cold color scheme and your beautiful line work enhance the look. Happy New Year and PPF!
ReplyDeleteI liked the eyelash details you added to the blue lady--very stylish!
ReplyDeleteI did see the face you saw, as well as the lady Nicole saw, but what first caught my eye was a ?skeleton grimace. Imagine the large nose as hair and look below it. See it?
You're right, I can see it, how scary!
DeleteBeautiful piece today Valerie, I love the effect of the white glimmer mist! That cloud is something else, wow! Great shot. hugs :)
ReplyDeleteLovely cool blue design Valerie. Beautiful work and great quote. Enjoyed your photos too and the birds look like a silhouette. Have a great weekend. xo

ReplyDeleteHappy PPF, thanks for dropping in at my blog today
much love...
Perfect quote to go with your blue face today. Loving blue, this page is a favorite the way you streaked the silver and highlighted her eyes. Your photos of the ships today were exceptional. I often wonder if the captains say to themselves, "there is that woman again, always taking pictures?" Enjoy your weekend.
ReplyDeleteHugs,
C
Could be! Some of them even wave!

ReplyDeleteWonderful monochromatic!
ReplyDeleteSo I tried to find the profile in the cloud. I mean I really looked, and it seemed to be the back of a puppy sitting down, with his ears back. But then I scrolled down and realized you meant the NEXT photo. LOL. Totally a profile, sort of Abe Lincoln-ish. :)
Beautiful artwork especially the silver additions.
ReplyDeleteI love clouds and it's great to hear someone else makes shapes and images out of them. I laughed because I saw the face with the long nose too.
Have a wonderful weekend and Happy PPF to you
