Tuesday post

Hi Everybody!

Today i have a colourful, good weather owl to share, inspired by a LB lesson from Tamara. I am linking to Chris'  all sorts of weather challenge at AJJThe owl was painted with water-colours. Many of you will not have seen such colourful owls, but this is another of the exclusive species who thrive here in Balconia-by-the- Rhine. Perhaps you can think of a name for this owl?

  2. Love the owl, maybe it is a rare Autumnal owl, seen only as the trees change colour and as winter steals in?? Lol!!

    1. That could be a reason! I'll keep my eyes open, the leaves are almost gone, so I might just see it!

  5. That is ONE COLORFUL owl. Very cute. I bet it even glows in the dark.

Great photos today of the sky and contrails. Last year at this time, very few people were flying.

Loved the Bed and Breakfast. Cute. Hope you are feeling better, dear.

  8. I am quite sure, Valerie, that this is the Rainbow Owl, hitherto thought to be extinct, but now rediscovered in Balconia-by-the-Rhine, by that famous sleuth, Dr All-wise Jael Tups. Its scientific name, as I understand it is under discussion, since it does not fit nearly into current taxonomy, but Bubo muilticolorus seems to be the odds on favourite for the moment. It is an owl for its time and those believing in divine providence will no doubt herald its appearance as a commemoration of the various rainbow coalitions around the world celebrating everything from skin colour to sexual orientation. It is an omen, a portent, almost a phoenix arising from the ashes. What a great service you are providing here by depicting it in all its mutl-hued splendour. I am a little concerned that only a single female has been discovered, and unless pathogenesis can occur, it seems to be on a one track journey back to oblivion. Perhaps this is an example of a species showing reversed sexual dimorphism, with the male being dull and inconspicuous. There is much yet to be discovered. We will be checking your posts for additional news. With awe, respect and hugs and kisses, your acolyte across the water. David

    1. Hi David, thanks for the smiles, I needed them today! May I use your comment in a future blogpost? I will definitely keep my eyes open and try to find a fitting male, but this might be the first hint of females taking over the world!? What an exciting breakthrough that would be! This female is far from taking over the world, she is just happy to sit in a chair by the radiator and keep warm today, let's hope things will be better tomorrows! Have a lovely day, dear David, take care! Hugs to you and Miriam!

  22. Not checked for the colours but I think she is something to do with a rainbow and definitely a Queen or a Princess. On the other hand it could be a King or Prince as it is usually the male species who is flamboyantly dressed. Whatever the name I think it is a magnificent painting, I love both the owl and the background.
    Hugs, Neet xx
    ps great photos too x
