DeleteGreat work, Valerie, despite those mean, miserable, uncooperative fingers. Today I will be leading our usual Tuesday group on our weekly walk to an area grandly named Grande Allée leading into a small patch of old growth forest called Indian Woods. It has not traditionally been our best birding route, especially at this time of the year, but one never knows. The woods are quite beautiful with old trees reaching up to the sky, some no doubt four hundred years old or more, and there is something about being in their midst that brings satisfaction.There are those who claim actual spiritual renewal in their presence, and who am I to doubt their claim? More often than not there are other walkers, some with dogs and even a few cyclists so it's hard to get contemplative. Sometimes on the way home from this location we stop for a coffee and Miriam and I split a muffin or a scone, and it is all very pleasant. How I wish you could join us. Everyone would love your company and we could slurp and burp together! Then we would come home for lunch. Today I think it will be quiche and salad. Ah well, we can dream. Imagination is a fine thing. So imagine these hugs squeezing you and a big fat kiss landing on you. Feels good, huh? Toujours ton ami, David.
ReplyDeleteHi David. Hope you enjoyed your walk along the not so Grande Aliée, and that you saw some nice birds, fun fungi and beautiful, old trees. I love being somewhere where I am surrounded by trees. I like to do that here, just stand and enjoy. And people come along and ask things like,'are you alright' or 'have you lost something?' For many, it seems to be unnatural just to enjoy nature. Okay, slurping, yes. But ladies do not burp! At least only when they're alone!Yes, one day, if Corona lets us, and my health is okay I will get on the bus To Canada! Have a great day, hugs, Valerie
