Hi Everybody!
Today I have another tag for Michele's challenge at Tag Tuesday, I love these colours together. This time I have filled my head with van Gogh, the portrait and the starry night are both my own 'knock offs'
And for Neet's Type challenge at AJJ I have another journal page, this time with a collage of squares cut from old letters and some marbled papers. I added some sewing until my machine decided to go on strike:
And I have more photos from the botanical gardens:
Have a great day, take care,
and thanks a lot for coming by!
Beautiful tag and page, love the botanical garden photos. I see a fall leaf there, and the days are getting shorter.
ReplyDeleteThanks Christine, autumn is definitely coming nearer! Have a great day!
DeleteI am loving using blue and orange together also. That is a super tag; it is nice to see one of your heads. And that's a creative page for Neet's challenge also. What a great idea using squares with print. And your visit to the botanical garden sure gave you some beautiful plants and designs to view. I did happen to notice the bee on that flower also. And we've had a few turned maple trees too. It is too early I think, but it is happening. Have a great middle of your week Valerie. Hugs-Erika
ReplyDeleteThanks Erika. The summer here has been mostly cool and wet and windy, and this morning really feels like autumn. I am waiting for a nice day to visit the gardens again! Have a great day!
DeleteWonderful art work Valerie, love the colour combination too. Hope the machine is ok. Botanical Gardens look amazing.
ReplyDeleteThanks Sue. I will give the machine a good clean, and if that doesn't help I will need to take it to the sewing machine hospital! Have a great day!
DeleteI heard Van Gogh starry night is a math and physics equation.
ReplyDeleteCoffee is on and stay safe
Thanks Dora, that sounds interesting! Have a great day!
DeleteThis is a beautiful post, Valerie.
ReplyDeleteThanks Nicole! Enjoy your day!
DeleteLovely vibrant post, love that blue in your journal and the gorgeous flowers...xx
ReplyDeleteThanks Annie, have a great day, hugs to you and Bella!
DeleteHi Val, good morning! Love the tag and the journal page, I always love your van Gogh knock-offs! Hope your weather is better than ours, it's cold and miserable here! Have a great day, hugs from us all, Sarah
ReplyDeleteHi Sarah, thanks! Our weather sounds the same, grey, cloudy and wet! Good weather to stay home! Hugs to all!
DeleteNice starry night. Beautiful images from Botanical Garden.
ReplyDeleteThanks Nancy! Have a great day!
DeleteAmazing art with van Gough! Your pictures from the botanical garden are all lovely VJ
ReplyDeleteThanks Ashok, have a great day!
DeleteBeautiful photos and a beautiful tag. I like Van Gogh's works, especially his early stuff, and chose him for my study at art college many many moons ago. A print of his Potato Eaters hangs in our spare room.
ReplyDeleteLikewise I enjoyed seeing your take on my theme of 'type' at Art Journal Journey. I like the contrast between the marbling and the script and the marbling looks so good on the black background.
Sorry to hear you are having problems with your sewing machine but as for the journal page it looks good with the two corners stitched as they are. Lovely quote too.
Thanks for joining me again at Art Journal Journey.
Hugs, Neet xx
Thanks Neet! I love van Gogh, too. I'm going to try to fix my machine today, let's hope it works. Take care, hugs!
DeleteNice Tags Valerie. Luv too that gentle looking sheep.
ReplyDeleteHave a good day
Much❤love
Thanks Gillena, have a great day!
DeleteAnother fab tag.
ReplyDeleteI love the photos Valerie, the bee on the dahlia is a good capture, love the lavender too, mine has just stopped flowering now..xx
Thanks Sandie. My lavender is now past its best, too, autumn is definitely c oming nearer! Have a great day!
DeleteGood morning, Valerie: I am sure that van Gogh will influence the world as long as humans survive. It's is astounding that one gaunt artist, getting barely enough to eat most days, could have such an eternal influence on the world he left so young. How dare your sewing machine go on strike? It has happened to Miriam too, but at least she has three machines, all in use, but set up for different functions, so it is nevertheless, a serious inconvenience until she is able to get it fixed. Fortunately, there is a good service facility available locally. It is quite remarkable how such an event can cause words to emerge from her mouth that one didn't even know that she knew! They rival the word "housew!*k" for you! Thanks for more images from the botanic gardens. I bet you are looking forward to a return visit. I will send instructions to the birds to go along with you. The very last picture is exquisite by the way. Have a wonderful Wednesday. Hugs and kisses, David
ReplyDeleteHi David. It's strange that many painters, like van Gogh, had nothing while they lived, and yet have left the world such a wonderful legacy of colour and beauty. I'm sure Miriam can say bad words when her machine breaks down or has hissy fits, you should hear me! I am going to give it a good clean and oil it, and see if that helps. If not it will have to go to the sewing machine doctor, I need my machine! This morning I had a little coal tit in my apartment. I filled my hand with müsli and lured it out onto the balcony again. I hope he doesn't come daily now to get more müsli! Glad you like the last picture, there is a whole series of little ponds and lakes in the botanical gardens, such a wonderful place to walk on a hot day. Today it's cold and grey again and feels like autumn. Have a great day, take care, have fun! Hugs!
DeleteI am going to send out the word right away to ALL the Coal Tits in Balconia-by-the-Rhine, and surrounding districts and territories, realms, principalities, suburbs, towns, villages, hamlets and isolated outposts that there is free müsli at your apartment, so get ready!! They will almost certainly be accompanied by Blue Tits and Great Tits too, with a smattering of Willow Tits and Marsh Tits, perhaps. Be sure to take pictures.
ReplyDeleteThe blue tits are already on the balcony demolishing fat balls! I will stock up on müsli when I go to the stores again!
DeleteBeautiful flowers, nice views, and a sheep! They've done such a wonderful job with that garden!
ReplyDeleteThanks, it's a wonderful place.
DeleteHello Valerie! I have a rather random question; I get overwhelmed/discouraged when my handmade tags start to "pile up". I wonder what you and other crafters do with all the beautiful tags? I see some for sale online but I wonder if that is worth the effort! I just hoped to get your thoughts!
ReplyDeleteI like to use mine - sometimes instead of cards for birthdays etc, sometimes I make them into little books, and often I use them as part of a journal page, a sort of recycling. Flat ones without too many embellishments also make good book-marks. Hope that helps you Sherry! Have a great day, hugs!
DeleteThanks for the tips, Valerie! Hugs right back.
DeleteThanks Sherry!
