Hi Everybody!
Today I have another mixed media piece, 10 x 14". The image
was cut from a magazine and transferred using clear film
(Saran wrap). I sewed it onto canvas, adding some very simple
embellishments. The edges of the canvas were coated with
structure paste and painted with a mix of reds, orange and
black. I sewed the whole piece onto black cardstock to frame
it. I love the grungy effect of this transfer.
For 'Back to School' at Tag Tuesday and for Simon Monday challenge,
school related, I have a tag with a hand-painted background:
Some photos from today's walk about.
Back to school is the theme at the Book shop:
Have a great day, take care
and thanks a lot for coming by!
Another fabulous post and a great selection for us to see and enjoy.
ReplyDeleteI think your 'Back to School' tag is just brilliant.
Love the way you've displayed your photographs and taken them using different angles, it works so well, and many different shapes within the pictures too.

We are still travelling. At the moment though at our daughter's house, and she is busy today, so I have time to spend at the computer.

That Saran wrap technique looks so cool.Fun tag though I think the moms would be happier than the kids. The bus just picked up the neighbor children for first day of school. They weren't skipping to the bus (-; Beautiful blue skies on your walk. I love how the dump duck (sea gull) posed for you. Have a great day
ReplyDeleteI'm fascinated by how you do .such clever transfers, lovely piece of art . More beautiful photos today too, such a pretty place you live in

Wow ! That red man looks amazing - such drama! The fun Back to School tag made me smile! I am not having much crafting time at the moment! Loved seeing the architecture in your town! Hugs,Chrisx
ReplyDeleteJust playing catch-up Valerie and I am so pleased I have found time to look at your wonderful posts. So much to admire and look at.
ReplyDeleteToday the canvas is amazing and like nothing I have ever seen before anywhere. What a wonderful technique to have conquered.
The tag is just so much fun and I love the jolly children. Fancy the book shop having the same theme as TT as well.
Love all of the photographs but the Hollyhock flower took me back to my childhood and I wanted to reach out and collect one of the seed pods to plant next year. Think hollyhocks would be a bit much for our garden but I do love them.
Thank you for sharing everything that you do
Love Chrissie xx
I am especially impressed with the saran wrap transfer. It goes so well with the beautiful background that reminds me of all things Asian.
ReplyDeleteI adore your darling back to school tag and was impressed that you found something to photograph in town that goes along with that theme.
I am in love with your town because of the flower boxes. We simply don't have many around here. They really brighten my day.
Thanks for you kind comments, too. I'm feeling marginally better, but not ready to run any races yet.
You have wonderful buildings in your area. I love the style of the architecture and you know how to capture it. Your Chamber of Commerce should pay you for this!
ReplyDeleteI am loving your paint pour! Looks like so much fun, I definitely want to try this. So sorry about your terrible burn! Ouch! Looks so painful. :( Big hugs, Autumn
ReplyDeleteThat large piece you made Val is amazing!!! So cool looking! And, you back to school one is precious! Love your photos!! I'm walking with you! Big Hugs!
