Birds and clouds

Hi Everybody!

Today I have a mixed media piece, 8" x 5 1/2". I used a postcard with
a blended paper background, using scraps of vintage papers
and stamps. The bird is from a sheet of Victorian scrap images. I
added some stamping and various pieces of textiles for the
'nest'. The card was sewn onto a piece of canvas using various
machine stitches and then sewed onto a distressed cardboard
background from recycled paper. The text was typed
and glued on.
I am linking to Paint Party Friday and to Jo's 'Poetry in
Motion' theme at Art Journal Journey.

For Tag Tuesday I have another scrappy tag. The BG was made with
pieces of washi tape, the window is a die cut, and the sheep
are from a sheet of Victorian scrap again. The tag itself was on my
jeans, and has been saved and given a new life here.  I am also
linking to Go Tag Thursday, anything goes.

And some more photos of the blue herons and storks that have
been gathering their food on the meadows by the Rhine:

I can hear something....

I know it's there....

Poor mole!

The scent of lavender:

We had wonderful skies again this week:

Have a great day, take care
and thanks a lot for coming by!

  1. I think we can all relate to your wonderful page. Poor bird wants to stay on the slow path, but forced to fly like the airplane through a busy world. Love the view from your window tag. I had a friend who used to raise sheep. They sometimes wandered off to the landing strip of the small airport next door. She would have to coax them home buy baking chocolate chip cookies. Some days you're the heron and other days you're the mole. At least the petunias are cheery as well as the blue skies. Enjoy the weekend.

  2. Gorgeous journal page, love the frustrated bird, don't we all know that feeling?! I love your fine sense of humour. The tag is fantastic, I remember when you could see the sheep from your balcony. And the photos are first class as always. Have a nice evening, hugs, Sarah

  4. I'm loving the fun way you have depicted the quote with the pretty bird and aeroplane postage stamp! The canvas you created with the text from the paper showing through and the lovely stamps are perfect for the vintage look and feel of this piece 😁. The dimension that the fabric creates is amazing, it reminds me of a hedgerow. Your scrappy tag made me smile with it's lovely view and happy stripy background. Great photos too, I can just smell the lavender ...lol 😉. Thanks for another beautiful page for this month's theme at Art Journal Journey! Happy Friday! J 😊

  17. Love the textures in your mixed media card - the background looks great - and the window tag is such fun. Great photos as always - amazing that you managed to catch the stork in the middle of his mole-meal! The blue heron is stunning - we only have the grey kind here, I think - at least, that's the only one I've ever seen. The lavender photos make me very happy.

  29. I love both of these but your bird one really gets me! Maybe it's my current bird passion or the wonderful textures with the stitching or the words -- I don't know -- but boy, it's great! And so, too, are your photos. I know the patience it takes to get so many different views and positions. Bravo!
