Hi Everybody!
It's weekend, enjoy!
I'm looking forward to a rest over the weekend, with time to take a walk, read, paint or just put my feet up an have a nap. For my spring challenge at AJJ I have a journal page made from a photo of sunflowers and a hand-painted backround, digitally assembled. Blue, yellow and pink are my fave colours of spring:
Some photos taken this afternoon in our park, which is a beautiful and peaceful place to walk:
Some Thinkies/funnies:

ReplyDeleteThanks Vee, Look after yourself!
DeleteGood morning, Valerie: Sunflowers have an added dimension of poignancy now as we think of Ukraine under the constant barrage of bombs rained down at the hand of a Russian madman; one man, with the world powerless to stop him. In Germany there are lessons to be learned from permitting this to happen, but the world continues to watch as Ukrainians are slaughtered merely for being Ukrainian. I hold no hope for the human species. It was Albert Schweitzer who said that man will destroy the world and he was right. We are well on the way to doing it. In the meantime, enjoy your walks in your lovely park. For a few moments at least perhaps you will forget your own ills and those of the world. I hope so. Hugs and kisses, David
ReplyDeleteHi David, sunflowers have indeed taken on a new significance this week, and the senseless bombing and murdering goes on and the world looks one. I see no solution just now. Yes, we are destroying our own planet, so sad. The park here s beautiful, and a place of peace to wander around in gthese strange times. Look after yourself, big hugs!
DeleteHappy weekend Valerie. I am loving those sunflowers. Not only did you use spring colors but they are a wonderful thought of Ukraine too. And you do have a beautiful place to walk. I like your clinic is in a wonderful area. That gothic style door is amazing. I hope you get some rest and relaxation this weekend. Hugs-Erika
ReplyDeleteThanks Erika! The old buildings here are all in Victorian Gothic, and the church belongs to the hospital/clinic complex. I'm having a restful weekend! Hugs!
DeleteI love the sunflowers and the dove of peace, too. Such symbolism in this beautiful journal page. Thanks for a very inspiring page using your theme at AJJ.
ReplyDeleteLOVE the architecture and the windows in some of those buildings. It's always fun to see a window box filled with flowers, too.
Now it's time for you to rest and get some much needed sleep, dear.
Thanks E! I've been using the blue and yellow colours in a lot of my art recently, my way of showing my sympathy. The old buildings here are delightful, I love them. I'm resting!
DeleteIs that a church in the park? I just love classic architecture and that building is absolutely stunning. I especially love the arches. It's a wonderful place to walk.
ReplyDeleteI hope you have a very quiet, restorative weekend and get good rest for the week ahead.
The Church is part of the clinic/hospital complex here, I will write more about it next week, as it has a very interesting history. You would love walking here!
