Thursday/Friday post

Hi Everybody!

Yesterday after I got back from the heart exam I needed to do something colourful. So I grabbed a huge sheet of paper (A2) and had fun rubbing soft pastel chalks into it, which really did me good. It was so nice to have dirty fingers again! After I had sprayed it with fixative I doodled the face with acryl markers, and then painted the little flowers with acrylics. I added a quote from Rumi: 'Let the waters settle, and you will see the stars, moon and flowers mirrored in your being' This piece full of spring colours is meant for my spring challenge at AJJ

The magnolia trees are all full in bloom:

Some funnies/thinkies:

I will let you know as soon as I get my results from the cardiologist.

Have a great day, take care,
and thanks a lot for coming by!

    1. Thanks Kathy. I use a fixative from Amazon, It's from Winsor and Newton and sypecially made for chalks, but you can also use hair-spray. The fixative is better, though. Hugs, Valerie

  7. Hope it is good news when it comes from the cardiologist Valerie. Also that the tests were not too exhaustive.
Lovely Spring Goddess for us to admire today. I love the Spring colours you have chosen and like the fact that they are in circles, with no ending. A beautiful face and lovely flowers and words to go with it.
Super funnies, love the animals and aren't those rock paintings wonderful.

  9. Good morning, Valerie: That's a bright splash of colour to start everyone's day. It's a little grey and gloomy outside, so it's quite appropriate and very welcome. Now there are those who think that Rumi is the most transcendent of all poets, and I confess to never having been able to see that. It is probably a result of my bourgeois appreciation of the arts no doubt, but his work has never bowled me over in the way it seems to affect so many. There are groups verging on Rumi cults! The Rubayat of Omar Khayam is another matter entirely. Now there's a work to set you back on your heels! I have my fingers and toes crossed for good news from the heart specialist. I am sure you do too! Thanks for the cheerful spring flowers. I saw daffodils poking green shoots through the ground in a neighbour's front yard, so it is coming here too. I have two Zoom meetings this morning. Perhaps one day soon face-to-face will be possible. This is a group to which I was appointed to a two-year term in January 2021 and I have yet to meet another member of the committee to which I was assigned, or the group at large. My term may be over before I do! Take good care. Hugs and kisses, David

    1. Thanks David, bright colours do me good now. Zoom is good, face to face is better. Shorts comment, was at the hospital for 6 hours today, and I am tired. Big hugs!

  10. Color is a big help on these grey not-quite-spring days. We saw magnolias on our recent trip east, but it will be weeks and weeks before we have flowers on the magnolia in our front garden. So I appreciate your colorful girl-face and also the blossoms.

  14. I love your page. It has a wonderful energy to it and of course, fabulous colors.

I'm curious -- the gorgeous magnolias are by a yellow building. What's in the building? Is it part of the clinic complex or nearby? They're beautiful.

    1. Thanks Jeanie. The yellow building is not a building, just a covered walkway connecting the various houses. The magnolia are so beautiful! Have a great day, hugs!

  18. Your spring goddess is beautiful. Those are really bright colors and I also need those right now. Thanks for sharing this gorgeous journal page with us at AJJ using your theme, dear.

LOVE the magnolias. I had a magnolia tree in my yard in Missouri and I miss the beauty of their flowers in the springtime.

Here's hoping you have great news from the cardiologist.

Head in the sand is how I'm feeling right now, I'd much rather be a sleeping kitty in the shoe, so at peace. The pups cuddled by their mama is a beautiful thing to see.
Happy PPF for the last time my friend, i'm so glad we are connected in blogland.
