Tuesday this and that

Hi Everybody!
Hope your week got off to a good start.

Today I have a new piece to share at AJJ, for Elle's 'language' challenge. The background was painted with acrylics,  and splattered with gold and fairy dust. The 'om' is a die-cut, as is the figure:

On my walk today I went through the little park, which used to be the moat. Wild flowers abound, the meadows only get cut twice a year:

And I walked through the cemetery and enjoyed the flowers there:

Going home along my street:

Drinking coffee on the balcony:

Have a great day, take care,
and thanks a lot for coming by!

  1. Nice sparkle in today's art Valerie. It is perfect for Elle's challenge isn't it. I also like your choice of "words" too. The Om looks beautiful. And that cemetery looks like a garden center with all those pretty flowers. But the star is really that frog and his cup of coffee. I love him. Happy Tuesday. Glad your able to get out walking again. hugs-Erika

  8. Your piece today has an element of oriental mysticism about it, Valerie. When I look at it I feel like I should be having deep thought or drifting away into a meditative trance. I wonder if people ever ponder the roots of the word "entranced"? Now, as for cutting this meadow twice a year, here is your challenge. I want you to to find out exactly which ground-nesting birds are raising their young there, and to petition the municipality to ensure that no mowing takes place when the eggs or young are vulnerable. The flowers are so beautiful, why cut it anyway? We need more nature in the city, not less. And the frog on the wall is exactly what I would expect where you live - even the amphibians drink coffee! Enjoy what's left of Tuesday. I guarantee you that tomorrow will be Wednesday - just the day to visit City Hall to talk about the meadow. Good luck! Hugs and kisses, David

    1. Hi David! I often feel entranced when watching TV, and then I slumber sweetly till the programme is over. They are very good here at sticking to the rules as to when it's safe to cut grass, the 'green' party is very active in that direction. And in other parks where they do cut the grass, they still leave other areas to grow wild to support the bees. There was an article in the paper recently that they send people though the fields before mowing to look for possible birds or animals and bring them to safety. I love the wild flower meadows, so much nicer than And yes, even our frogs drink coffee! Have a great day, hugs to you both!

    2. I am seriously impressed that that kind of diligence takes place. You won't have to visit City Hall after all!

  11. So much pretty color. Isn't it fun to see the once-a-year wildflowers. I think we appreciate them more because we see them so little.

  22. The 'om' and the filgure really do give impact to your page Valerie. But saying that I do not want you to think I was naot blown away by your background - I was. Such gorgeous colours and I love the gold sprinkling of dust you gave to it. A really striking page.
I would run a mile if I saw a real frog (our gardener used to take them back to his if he found them in our garden knowing how they spook me) but I rather like the one having a coffee with you.
    Hugs, Neet xx
