Thursday/Friday post

Hi Everybody!

This week seems to be disappearing fast, where does the time go?

Today I have a journal page meant for Elle's language challenge at AJJ and for Paint Party Friday, the language of creation. This is a remake of one I made many years back, but the other one was more purple. The quote is in Hebrew at the top and English at the bottom, and is the first sentence of Genesis. It was painted with acrylics on an A3 sheet of paper, the decorations and wording were made with Pentel pens in white, gold and bronze:

And I am sharing some photos from a trip to the zoo in Krefeld a couple of years back, and I hope they will soon open up again. The sculptures are all from African artists:

This was one of my faves:

I'm hoping that dear  David will know what these birds are:

Have a great day, take care,
and thanks a lot for coming by!

  7. Good morning Valerie: Based in your art, and your impeccable scholarship, it is clear that the physicists and astronomers have been wrong in their theories about black holes - they were obviously blue holes! If only they had consulted with you, you could have saved them a whole lot of trouble, and think of the fun they would have had spending their research funding on other matters. The Inca Tern has already been identified, so I have no need to do that, but the pictures bring back wonderful memories of incredible numbers of them along the coast of Chile several years ago. It's great to see all that African art featured. Years ago, while travelling extensively in West Africa, I had the chance to buy some really good stuff, but my funds were limited back then, and I passed on the opportunity. I have always regretted it. The weekend is almost upon us and yesterday we had a decent rainfall so I am confident that everything will be greening up very nicely. The birds will be singing, the flowers blooming, the sun shining warmly and the coffee tasting good. How much better could it get? Well, there is a bottle of Malbec on the counter. That's how much! Hugs and kisses. David

    1. Hi David, I'm glad you don't question my authority to pontificate on the true nature of the sky, planets and creation, and accept that my colour choice is much nicer than black. On the other hand, I could have saved myself a lot of work by just painting a big, black hole - too late! I would love to see those birds in huge numbers, too, they were so pretty. I love African art, and have a few pieces I got from friends who were there on holiday. Here it's still raining, but as you say, the birds are singing and I am about to make myself a cup of wonderful Lavazza coffee....Enjoy your Malbec, have a great day, hugs to you both!
